So my next NA mod is going to be headers. I'm looking for objective opinions (lol yeah right) on quality and fit.

Secondly, I'm considering going cat-less so I'm curious as to the ability to tune out the CEL issues that are bound to pop up? If not I'll stick to catted pipes and may even try to get green cats.

Btw I have a Corsa sport so I'm looking for a 3" connect 1 7/8" headers. I figure I'll have to fab up a short connection piece as I want to maintain a true 3" exhaust.

Thanks guys....and TRY to keep it civil lol ;)

I looked at theirs especially since they offer built-in green cats but I didn't see any with performance connect. They are quite a bit pricier than stainless works and others

it really doesn't matter which headers you get. they are all within 5 hp of each other, the rest is just brand loyalty bullsh!t. I have used ARH, Kooks, TSP, SW, etc and ARH and Kooks have had the best fitment but were also more $$.

Tuning out codes is cake, don't worry about it. However, if it is a street car, I would get cats to clean up the exhaust....you don't want to stink every day you drive to work or something do you?

I've used a variety of headers over the years and I really liked the fitment of Kooks headers. Any tuner can shut off the rear O2 sensors to eliminate the cell.

Oh ok, I wasn't aware they could be turned off. My mustang is a daily driver for now but FL is not an emission testing state. I ran catless on my Evo and didn't notice any smells...what's that about?

I've yet to have any issue of stink lol. Seriously though besides the fact that it sounds and performs like a beast, theres no negative effects from going cat-less.

Yeah I'm trying to figure that one out. Cats don't remove smells, just unburnt hydrocarbons...but a proper tune will clean those up.

Is there any side affects from turning off the rear sensors? Doesn't the ECU use that signal for comparison purposes to adjust fuel trim?

I haven't had any issues what so ever, before or after tune. I rode the car around for about a week and a half without a tune, then obviously took it to Steeda and since then my Gas mileage got better when i don't drive crazy lol.

I run the SW factory connect long tubes no cats on my car with the Corsa sports. I installed them myself on the car and the quality and fitment was spot on, as stated you cant go wrong with any of the big name brands SW, ARH, Kooks.

cats definitely remove stink. you may not notice it but your wife does.....
my wife said I dont smell when I come in from driving the car. The interior of the car doesnt smell like fuel either.

I can smell a little fuel smell when I park but thats about it.

its very possible the new mustang does a better job of keeping the fumes out of the cabin than most cars, which would be pretty cool.

i normally come home stinking like tire smoke and carbon after driving other cars.
