I have the TurboSmart BOV..

I tried an adapter on the stock valve and it was loud and annoying. Glad I bought the Adapter used for $40 and resold it for the same price.
Ahe got you.. yah I spent $85 total for that POS boomba adapter. .. the turbo smart is a real blowout valve so it's not cheap lol

I have an FFTec CAI and put the stock location TurboSmart BOV on my car and Love it. It sounds like a proper turbo car, isn't crazy loud with the recird tube connected, and the best part is really changes the way the car builds boost and makes its feel like a proper turbo car. I hate... Hate how the stock Valve vents at weird annoying times. I tried an Adapter for the stock valve and it was super annoying loud and did nothing for performance or feel of the car.
Does the BOV do anything for performance? Like you say the car builds boost faster? So the car is faster lol

TS BOV may marginally make power at low part throttle inputs but no difference at Wide open throttle. From my observation the stock valve is venting at steady cruise and low throttle inputs to keep boost down and MPG up. Great for saving gas but lets say you are steady cruise and roll into the throttle it will have just a bit less boost to start off with and depending on your throttle input may continue to vent. A mechanical BOV will be closed at steady cruise so rolling into the throttle the same way will have a bit more boost to start. Overall it feels better with the TS valve. Just the way the car builds boost is different in a good way.

Having now received and installed the MMR intake, I'd like to update that you do indeed get that nice BOV sound when you let off the gas above 2k rpm's and it's not annoying like the Boomba adapter which sounds terrible and seems to be venting all the time..

I'd also like to report that the induction noise with the MMR intake is godly. I absolutely love it. It transformed the car for me.. I enjoy driving it twice as much just from hearing that air rushing in and that BOV hiss. I don't know what the intake actually does performance wise on a dyno but I will tell you that it feels a bit stronger on take off from a dig.

Before I used to get a lot of aggressive drivers in civics, altimas, maximas, chargers, hyundais trying to show off or egg me on.. since I've installed the MMR intake and you can clearly hear that beautiful induction noise and BOV, I haven't really had anyone attempt to pull on me or cut me off Lol..
Got my MMR intake installed yesterday.. I'm already tuned from Unleashed and I will say that not only it sounds wicked, the car feels a lot faster and pulls harder! Maybe I'm tuned so the CAI works that much better.. the throttle response is faster thus quicker acceleration big time!

The freeway hiss isn't as bad as the boomba.. now going to see which real BOV I can get to eliminate the hiss altogether..

MMR rating -

Sound - 10
Performance - 10 (With a tune, I felt at least 10-15 HP/torque added)
Look -10
Installation - 7 (really have to move the horn at least 1/2 clearance from filter & the filter can move about 1/2 as well)

Worth every penny tho IMO :clap2:

I've had three different intakes. Stock with K&N, JLT, and MAP.

I'm staying with the MAP for a number of reasons:

-Less space occupied in engine bay.
-IAT's similar to (or better) than the stock airbox in all conditions.
-Mounts to the fender

They all make power, IMO none of them offer any advantages over each other except for what I mention above.
How much hotter were the IAT's with the JLT?

You sure stock one is open during low boost ? Remember the stock is not a BOV it's a recirculate valve , so it should be open at idle and low speed, cruising loads . this is to remove any turbo load .
Maybe its just crappy seal of stock valve, it be interesting to note when electronically the valve is suppose to open during different loads and rpm's .
