Yes, the mechanical BOV won't open like the OEM does.

questions....

First post here fellas, just got my ecoboost stang a few months ago, today i took off the tube that connects to the stock BOV and the intake...i plugged the hole on the stock BOV with electrical tape, what can i buy that will plug it permanently...or i mean . im a noob when it comes to this stuff. also what will happen if my electrical tape comes off or creates a hole? my buddy said that nothing bad will happen but you will lose power, but just check it every day or 2 to make sure. In this picture i unconnected the part circled and covered that hole with electrical tape very securely. The part of the tube connected to the intake i left connected and unconnected on the part i covered for the Hissss. please let me know if i did this correctly...car is completely stock!

Hmm, I don't think it's a good idea to have a hole on the intake or the BOV hose.. Are you trying to get the wssshhh noise? If you are trying to vent to atmosphere with a stock intake, you can buy the little air filter (auto parts store) and connect that to your BOV hose.. As far as the hole on the intake, I have heard members using rubber furniture feet to cover the hole. There's a thread about Venting to atmosphere on here somewhere.. He took pictures of the small air filter..

basically in my picture, what's circled is where i took the tube off, i put electrical tape over that hole, sealing it completely and the tube is sitting still connected to the intake, just unconnected from the circle portion from the picture. I get that sound "PSHHHHHH at 3k ish rpms when cruising and when shifting too. am i doing this wrong lol

it's not necessarily wrong but dont tape off the BPV side.. Seal of the intake with whatever you can and try using these little ones on the end of the tube. The little air filter works well when you use it to cap of the tube coming from the stock BOV.

Bascially reroute it away from the intake tube with the filter attached.

I plugged the hole on the stock BOV with electrical tape...

Oh gawd! Noh! All kinds of major FAIL ready to happen here, about to blow an engine up! It's called a blow off valve because it's suppose to blow off excessive boost pressure so it doesn't blow out somewhere it's not suppose to.

Ditch the hot side pipe with the electrical BOV and get a new charge pipe with mechanical BOV to get a real blow off sound.

Update....

i corrected the issue, went to lowe's and bought the same chair leg covers and also got the 1 1/4 valve filter, attached it to one end of the recirc tube and plugged the other end into the bov, so it is done proper. I'm running stock intake atm, with a after market CAI will i expect to hear the sound increase?

Setup looks good.. yeah, aftermarket CAI helps alot.. I got the mmr. . There's a whole thread on it.. it sounds wicked with the Wssshhhhhh, better throttle response and faster acceleration (boost goes up quicker)..
