This.

Its only about £500-ish per car according to that sheet, same as VW make on a basic Golf.

The profit margin is not much better in the USA, but they're more than happy with it over that side of the Atlantic because they sell so many of them in a month they end up with a tidy sum anyway. In the UK its nothing more than a halo model.

HOWEVER, these are just the prices if you buy in cash. Finance? That's a tidy 6.8% APR. The Mustang GT is the highest priced new passenger car Ford currently sell in the UK, and 70/80% of Mustangs sold are GTs, so the money they end up with at the end of it is quite substantial.

If they're ignoring even Finance customers then its just poor service overall, rather than disinterest in one particular model.
I can confirm finance customers paying the 6.8%APR are also treated the same....

Yes double on that - Anybody got better figures or other finance suggestions? I moved my figures to the Alternative Finance post - please add to that post if you have better finance ideas :-)

Anyone fancy being a bit sad can follow @sotonships on Twitter, they seem to tweet ship locations ... e.g 12/10/2015 The Vehicle Carrier Eurasian Highway has just set sail for Baltimore (USA).

Eurasian is due into Baltimore soon albeit it still seems to be out of range for AIS tracking.

Is it bad that I'm already looking at Importing a Dodge Challenger R/T?

Super Track Pack + Cold Weather Group + Black Paint is a hair under £34,000 once fully imported and homogenized. Pretty much the same level of spec as the GT sans leather seats (which is what I proffer anyway).

Don't worry, not looking at Camaros. Lord no.

If the experience of owning a Mustang is even a fraction of the pain of buying one then this is where i'll be going next!

My friend in San-Antonio is pushing me to get the Dodge because he already owns a 2014 Charger with the 8-speed. He wants us to be "Dodge Bros."

But the Dodge is Option B. I'm remaining patient because its still a few months before the delivery date I was given by Andy Barrat.

It's a mean looking car. Your friend has better taste than my Houston-based Chevy loving mate!

I'm also sticking with Ford this time around but unless the future car is something really special I won't make the same mistake again (ie joining an open-ended waiting list). If my car was built today and assuming a 12 week delivery I would be right towards the end of the estimated delivery at time of order (Q4 2015, maybe just into 2016). Andy didn't answer my emails or read my PM but after a forum member gave me Karen's email address both she and my dealer brought the estimated delivery forward...

Currently I have no VIN so the car is not being built any time soon. Dealer is quoting what it says on Vista (car was being built last Thursday) and Karen is now not replying. It doesn't matter as much now as I really don't want to be collecting the car at the end of January. If I could be sure it would arrive towards the end of February/March I'd be happy but the trouble is I can't even be sure i'll have it by then.

Either there is a problem with the RHD cars or we're being bumped down the line to accommodate other markets. Whatever, someone knows the reason and it would be decent of them to tell us, their paying customers.

If I can get the Mustang in Right Hand Drive, I will. I wont settle for a left hooker when a right hooker is available. Plus, with the premium and performance pack applied, the Pony costs around $38,000~$40,000 USD. When importing into England just swap the currency symbol over and you'll get the GBP£ price (give or take a few hundred).

End result is a left hand drive car for around £39,000 when the right hand drive one costs £34,000. I refuse to pay an extra £5000 over the UK model, and I refuse to sacrifice spec to lower the price.

My assumption is a problem with RHD production. They've never made RHD cars at this factory before, and with so many cars being sent to the underfitters (I forget the name, is it underfitters?) for tweaks and changes, my guess is right hand drive hasn't went as smoothly as ford wished. Didn't they only make ONE car on the first day right-hand production due to issues?

Posts like this remind me of my biggest fear - the infamous build quality!

Question. if you are going to go through all of the trouble to import a LHD Challenger because your mustang is taking too long, Why not just import a LHD mustang? Neither will have warranty but the Mustang will share most parts with the RHD version so service and repairs should be easier.

The experience of owning a Chrysler will have you back in no time:lol:
I would buy the Camaro before the Dodge, good news is that they will have keyless entry and push button start which alleviates the fear of instant death somewhat.
