I believe you press the settings button on the steering wheel. Then go to advanced settings, then to vehicle.

Yes, oil life indicator exists in all S550’s.

It is designed to “count down” based on “time passed” as of last manual oil change reset. Even if the car is stored, the counter still counts down. It does not know if the car was driven or if oil was actually changed.

Using your steering wheel button, go into main dash cluster menu, under vehcile settings and you should find the oil indicator setting there. Just reset it back to 100%.

The remaining life is calculated as a function of several variables: time passed since last oil change, miles driven, number of cold starts, driving style, etc. Oil degrades over time even if you're not driving, hence the time variable.

It's also visible in the FordPass app on the "Vehicle" page. Mine is telling me that I have 22% oil life left. For my car, that's based on the one year limit as I don't put enough miles on it to run the life out that way.

Its gonna be going through the options though the gauge cluster interface. Should be under something along the lines of vehicle info.

I love the ford pass app. Check my tire pressures, oil life, whatever daily.
