Hello-

I am a dedicated Ford and mustang fan. But my knowledge of cars is limited. I gave a ‘21 Mach 1 with embarrassingly low miles. I store it for the winter. Although I probably do not need to do this, I do an oil change before storage and after storage.

it’s been out of storage for a few weeks and I am at the dealer getting an oil change and he told me it is dripping oil everywhere are they cannot find the source. He is going to keep it this week and do a full oil leak diagnostic. Now I did not notice any oil leaking in my garage, he said that it was all captured in some sort of drip pan that gets taken off for an oil change and it was a mess.

he also said it may be nothing but he’d rather be safe than sorry. Anyone have any ideas? My last 2 cars were Japanese and I had zero mechanical issues , this doesn’t build my confidence in American made cars!

I should add he had the car on the lift and there was oil dripping when he took me over there.

My money is on its something minor possibly by something from the before storage oil change.

Which dealership?

Ewald ford, Cudahy, WI. I think you are right, has to be something minor.

Yes there is what is called a belly pan under the front of the car and if it were leaking (seeping) it could have been caught in the pan (topside).

Tell them to check:
- Oil sensor above the oil filter - most common leak point from a loose sensor

- valve covers - should not be at this stage as it was an issue on the 2015-2017's, rare on 2018+.

- loose oil filter

- rear main seal - although if this was a source, usually it's after the belly pan and would definitely be hitting the floor

oil cooler - IIRC; doesn't the M1 have an oil cooler unit?
