And the factory filter was so lightly screwed on, it was dripping oil.

Just an FYI. Might want to think about checking that if you get a new car.

You would think that as many times that we have heard of this exact issue that the folks in quality control would have corrected it by now. C'mon Ford!

It seems to be a serious issue with GT350s. Lots of folks having their factory filters dump oil out at the track after coming lose.

Mine was put in by hulk.... I had to smash in the oil filter to get a good grip to take off. Regardless both towards the no no end of the spectrum. After the freebie I do my own.

Mine too was on very tight for the first change. After verbally threatening to stab it with a screwdriver, it decided to break lose. I felt spoiled the 2nd change because I didn't put the new one on with an impact gun lol Almost time for the 3rd change actually...time flies when you're having fun.

I had oil spots on my car too as well. Mine wasn't on tight at all when I got it. After the first oil change and a proper hand tighten, I've never seen another drop of oil there again.

Lots of inconsistencies at the factory. Mine was put on by the Hulk with a breaker bar.

Mine came right off with filter strap. The OEM filter was much smaller than the recommended replacement FL500s on my 18 for some reason.

2010 when I had a Raptor 6.2L, it was the same thing. Per forums, I just took it to the dealer for the first oil change so they could deal with it. The mustang is too pretty for dealer hands though.

I had a small oil leak at the time of my first oil change as well. Loose filter from the factory.

The GT350 is a different circumstance than the GT. The GT350 spins up a lot higher in the rev range because of the flat plane crank and that can cause the oil filter to vibrate off. This doesn't happen with the GT.

Maybe Ford expects the car made for more track duty to be inspected more often...because track car?

Mine wasn't loose but started leaking a few months after I got the car. Replacement filter is fine now.

Also the oil pressure sender adapter that screws into the block is famous for backing off and leaking. Speaking from first hand experience...

This. No problems at the start, oil spots in the driveway at 4800 miles from a seeping seal on the factory filter.
