I contacted Fumoto and was surprised to get a date for valves for the new Ford pans. Most companies won't say a dam thing believing it better to leave thousands hanging than a few disappointed if it slips.

We have reached out to our engineering team and they have estimated that the valve will be available in March 2020.

This isn't going to work - engines with plastic plugs have larger drain hole diameter and the flow is so high that it will overflow this immediately before oil drains inside through the hole in the pan.
I learned my lesson - ask me how....

(didn't have this exact one but very similar)
I have that one too, makes a mess.
Kitty litter box works better

I have this one, and it works quite well for me.

The cap is bigger than the round one above. It is much easier to pour the used oil into the empty 5-qt container afterward because you're pouring in a more natural angle unlike the round one where it wants to yaw on you whilst carefully balancing and pouring it.

But, the kitty litter box works great, and is my tool of choice for trans pan drops and for flushing the coolant.

Your wife doesn't get mad when the cat leaves oily foot prints everywhere?
I have two cats, and both have been immobilized per CA emissions. They are firmly welded onto the exhaust pipe. And they better not be oily!

I temporarily taped a big cardboard backsplash on my oil drain pan, worked great.

I do the same and I have the cardboard from the top of the oil pan almost down to the oil drain pan and it works great. I just finished my third oil change and so far I havent spilled a drop. I also use tin foil below the filter and loosen the filter just enough to start the flow of oil and let it drain down the foil and into the drain pan before I remove the filter. All in all a very clean method of changing the oil.

Yeah, after laying on the cold concrete one night I swore I would never do that again. The next day I ordered a lift. If you have the space I highly recommend it.

Interesting. I have one but don't plan to use it for oil changes. I believe it's quicker to just drive it up ramps for that.

Difficult to use ramps if your car is low though.

Yes I do, I have Steeda full length jacking rails. I store my jacking rails under my car. So its easy, just pull them out into position and push the up button.
