so just a to be fare, I was contacted by 2 different people in china (I think atleast)
So far...
Everything work, straight android is cool, screen sharing is super nice so I don't even need to bother with a lot of crap (though I wish the app that works with iOS was engish).
I can actually tether my phone, VPN into work and RDP to a windows box and work from my car... I LIVE IN THE FUTURE!

Its an iOS app that does 2 way screen share, sadly I don't think that can be fixed :(
So, I am guessing the mic for the car phone is on the front panel above the AC controls, I have a noticeable degradation in call quality from the base Sync setup. Any way to wire in the factory mic?

Everything's fixable lol. You could unsolder the mic from the headunit and tap 2 new wires from the OEM mic and run them to the headunit and solder the new wires in...

I made a new tutorial on how to modify the new harness. I'm waiting on @soldier989 to give me permission to use some of his pictures that he posted on the forum. Once he said go for it. I'll let y'all know the website has been updated...

I gotta figure out which wires on the harness need to have power so I can test my new USB cable. Without power, it does nothing.

So, this unit has its own microphone? It doesn't use the one in the car? I made a test call and they heard me OK. It wasn't a long call or anything though.

WOHOOO So I fixed my google maps problem.
I installed the Kingo Root (I would wait for someone who knows more than me to suggest a better root if possible, this one is annoying).
I had to go to system/apps and rename maps.apk to maps.apk.bak then install the latest maps apk from the web. Once done Google Maps was an option for navigation to use!!
I still haven't worked out getting the play store into the apps launcher though.
