Yeah, now I do . When I help, I like to do it right. I had to reply about 3 times before you mentioned the menu button, but thanks anyway. I went to my car, and lo and behold, the button is also there (Duh!). And yes, the second page materialized, so puzzle solved .

As far as I know you only need the license for the map update not the Sync update. When you download the sync update it has no idea what radio you have other than the VIN and it is a free update anyway. If I need a license where do you get that from because it is not on the Sync update page and it never mentions it in the instructions.

Ahh, you quoted a map update item so I thought you were doing that. Yes, for the general software update there is no license. That LST error means it can't find one of the packages in /SyncMyRide, so verify they're all there.

Well after your post I figured out the way the MAC unpacks a compressed file is nuts so I just removed the SyncMyRide\ in front of each file name and it solved my issue my radio is updating as I type this. I bet I messed with this 5 hours yesterday and never noticed this. Your post made me start looking at the files thanks. The map update is next.

I've been trying to sort through and find some information but I haven't found clear answers. I have a 2018 Sync V3.0 system with the latest 3.0 software. The latest update for 3.0 broke the Ford GT theme

• Is the V3.0 end of life already or will it get a version of the 3.4 software?
• Can the 3.0 units run the 3.4 firmware?
• Is there a benefit to upgrading to a 3.4 APIM?
• What does the latest 3.4 have that the latest 3.0 doesn't have?

I see people mentioning background and themes? I see no such options in my 3.0. Can a dark theme be run without the dimmer being on in the day time? I've seen a video from Europe with a guy that had the 10 inch screen in something like a focus. It appeared he was running a black theme in the day without brightness degradation.

Well, the 3.4 update was successfull... after THREE freaking loops. Geez. So no, Ford took all those days off for nothing. Couldn't find the notepad on my stupid computer, so had to use the file from Ford. The first time it took 14 minutes, so I was late (was expecting 15 mininum). The second time took less than that, so freaking missed it again. The last one was standing right there in the 100+ heat, and the stupid 'warning' to remove the USB flashed for less than a second. No wonder I couldn't catch it before. But it's done.

By the way, is there a way to edit the background? The blue Ford used is awful. And the screen looks smaller, so guess the lower buttons are bigger than before (why?). Hope there's a way to change the color (details, please ). I've been downloading the maps for hours. Now it's the USB; it's almost done. Will attempt to do that tomorrow. Did a master reset, and 1.18 is still there, so will have to repeat the download. Oh well. Forgot to check if the 'calm screen' is there or not. If not, will have to get another license because the one I had expired already.

I don't think we can... BUT found a solution . Switched to the Lincoln MY20 theme, which is gray, so immensely better. And could keep the pony animation, so it all looks stock. The only slight disappointment was that it's also all gray, so boring as hell. But the good news is you can use night mode during the day, and it has FOUR different backgrounds. I ended up with a dark gray, and the lower keys turned light gray, and looks awesome now, with no freaking blue anywhere . I think the FORScan instructions are further up this same thread. It was a better fix, since 3.4 is supposed to be better; less buggy, and quicker. Hope this helps. Good luck.

I really hated the Sync 3.0 default theme. When I lost the Ford GT theme it drove me to go full on to 3.4. The 3.4 blue is a bit intense. I like the 3.4 default and Lincoln MY20 better than 3.0.

I'm questioning some of the backgrounds provided, lol. But at least some are useable. It would be amazing if someone figured out how to fully hack the themes. I'm sure it could be done.
