I too was hoping Ford would put the Focus RS 2.3 into the EB as well; I suppose Ford decided to keep the 350 HP 2.3 engine exclusive to the Focus (maybe it is too early to possibly "alienate" the Focus RS owners?). I was disappointed that the Ford didn't add ANY HP to the refreshed 18 EB at all. In my opinion, Ford could have added at least 10 HP to the refreshed 18 EB (I think Ford should have added 20 HP and 40 LB-FTS of torque to the 18 "refresh"). 330 HP/360 LB-FT of torque would have been respectable...and put the EB closer to the Camaro V-6 for HP. In my opinion, Ford "Dropped the Ball"...AGAIN!!!...in not "bumping" the GT'S output to at least 470 HP/430 FT-LBS torque and the EB'S to at least 330 HP/360 FT-LBS torque.

Anyone else curious what suspension changes were done to reduce wheel hop...and if they'll be available as bolt-ons for the current mustang?
The way I understand it, the S550 wheel hop is mostly the result of the use of soft rubber bushing in much of the chassis suspension. Its helps with a smooth ride and NVH but suffers from deflection. Both the Steeda and BMR aftermarket solutions to wheel hop are built around the idea of addressing deflection in the stock bushings. At minimum the use of a lockout to hold the stock bushing in place, or a move to replace it and go with a stiffer bushing like polyurethane or some other material.

If not the bushings, or perhaps in addition to the bushings, maybe some kind of upgrade to the stock vertical links in the factory suspension or some kind of additional bracing. Looking at the performance pkg mustangs, as well as the track suspension upgrade from Ford Racing, I don't see any listing for vertical links that upgrade from the stock units found on the BASE car. The PP car has upgraded toe-links, but not the vertical links. The same goes for additional bracing, outside of the struts tower brace I don't see any additional bracing Ford offers.

So they have some places they can address from the factory, I just don't know if they will be any different that what you can already get in the aftermarket. Perhaps the magnetic shocks can help, but I can't see how it would have a bigger impact over the bushings and bracing.

Until I see it supporting 1500+ without spray i stand by my comments. It's better than DI alone thats obvious, I'm not disputing that.
I'm not sure what part of the setup you are questioning. If it will support 1500whp on DI injectors only? Since it has port injectors it will support at least whatever hp the old coyote setup did. The only issue maybe using the port injectors to supply the bulk of the fuel with the higher compression. Or do you mean you want to see the entire stock fuel system support 1500whp cause that's unlikely.

Color me impressed. That autobox is a rocket. Good luck first year adopters, may the force be with you.

Has anyone seen if the 2018 has been on a diet? The base 2017 GT was around 3700#.
My Base 17 GT is 3630lbs
I'm guessing the 18 is a little heavier.

5 bucks says tons of people will trade up, cry on the forum about lack of good tuning support and not realize they are first year guinea pigs. Aside from that it's too European for me and I still couldn't be less interested in this new fuel set up.
+1 on that view. This is why I did'nt buy a 2015 out of the gate. ;)
Waited to purchase my 2017. :D

I too would of liked to see the RS parts in the Mustang. Though I doubt they would of been able to keep the price down with better intercooler, turbo, iron sleeves and head gasket maybe even more reliable drive shaft and transmission components for longevity.

Sadly, 460 hp is on 93-94 octane fuel. So it can't be legitimately compared against the Camaro .Actual proper power is 448 hp/408 tq on 91 fuel, to keep things in an even plane with Chevy and Dodge, that rate their power on 91 fuel. Still disappointing. Very little torque, 45-65 extra lbs of weight, equals 0-60 in a still quick 4.3 sec. 12.8@113 in the 1/4...

So don't count on the new, heavier car to be any quicker than the current car. Still going to be slower, much slower than a SS in all performance categories, and far worse mpg's. I use to get 23 mpg in the city out of my C6 Z06 with 550 hp. That's better than a Focus ST driven lightly.
