Greetings,
While looking for stems and sensors for my new wheels (Thanks Terrance)! I noticed that the factory OEM sensors (TPMS39) are only rated for 155MPH. Wondering where the fail point would be? Sensor detaching and bouncing in the tire? I doubt I'll have an opportunity to drive that fast in my area but have seen 150 on an airstrip. Makes tire speed rating kinda mute with this weak link. Just my .02

I wouldn’t pay much attention to the rated speed, I think that’s just the speed they’ve been tested at and shown to work without failing. They can certainly go faster without fail, as I’ve never heard of there being issues (although I’m sure it’s possible.)

Given the way the sensors are held inside the rim, it seems extremely unlikely that they’d ever detach and bounce around.

No, I'm not worried about it, Just thought it curious that of all the parts on our cars, the valve stem is only rated for 155mph. I've never seen or heard of a failure either. Just an observation.
