2019 Gt has a tick that is constant at idle , when the rpms are up like during a cold start i dont hear it ,but as soon as it idles down it starts. The sound comes from the passenger side valve cover, the insulator for the hp fuel pump is missing but this tick is loud so i dont know if its that ,other than that the car runs fine .

Modern engines with direct injection and extensive use of aluminum and plastic make a lot of noise. These materials have poor noise absorbing properties, so there will always be higher pitched harmonic sounds. Plus, direct injectors are very noisy.

From what I have observed, moderately loud ticking sounds that occur at idle, but disappear as rpms increase, are caused by injectors. I have observed this on multiple cars, not just Mustangs. But, the V8 configuration and firing order has a different cadence than other configurations. So, residual sounds will be different.

I am hearing impaired, which gives me some advantages, believe it or not. You hear all the sounds around you, I don't. I only hear what my hearing aids allow me to hear. I can hone in on higher pitched sounds and adjust the volume and range.

I don't know what to tell you. These engines are noisy (as are most modern engines), my car is new and makes all kinds of noises at idle (its 8 cylinder, 32 valves, 16 injectors, and tons of other stuff working in harmony). Doesn't bother me one bit. Send her to redline and forget about it. Noises you want to look out for are rod knock, grinding, high pitched noises. As well as monitoring oil levels, color, smoke, etc. If you are too concerned take in for warranty work if you are still under warranty. At least a video of the sound would help, don't think many people can help here.

Direct injection, cam phasers, timing chain, injectors or maybe 1 of 100 other things that make the coyote noisy. As long as it's ticking it's probably running strong. If the engine gets quiet you better start to worry.
LOL Exactly. Ill stick to my slogan "If my Coyote don't tick, I don't want it"
