A member on here just bought a 2017 with about 7K miles for $49K. Sticker was $60K. That's about a 20% hit for someone, and if they paid an ADM, they lost their ass.
Thank you for posting a data point that supports my comments. They were off the top of my head, and I haven't been researching actual recent used car sales.

Hello, I just got my 17 for $49,800 with electronics package and it has 5600 miles on it... I would look for a used 17, that way you are not stuck between choosing the track package or the electronics package... I keep posting this but I absolutely cannot say enough about this car, it's amazing and leaves me smiling every time

good Zombo!?!? haha :)

^No such thing as a '17 with tech package; it would be Base, Electronics Package or Convenience Package. Sorry, I'm a stickler for accuracy...if you said "Stripe Delete", you'd really set me off...J/K

Good luck with your new ride!

Good data points. I was projecting the 10% depreciation off a used 17 around $50k purchase price. But prob more around 15% as the market shakes out.

Like other said, probably a higher % in year 2, 3, then slow down years 4,5 as more buyers enter the market (at the lower price points).

Those of us with base '17s prefer the term "poverty pack.";)

I bought a new '17 with electronics package for $3400 under MSRP. I looked at these cars earlier this year when dealers had non-R models marked up 10-15k over MSRP and refused to pay ADM and was not quite ready to give up my Viper. I would agree that ADMs for the non-R should be over but see some dealers holding on to the ADM dream. I knew for this car to work for me I would need at least a '17 since the earlier years were either track or tech and I wanted both.

I had an E92 M3 and think that this car is comparable but better in many regards. The shifter is WAY better than what I had in the M3, even after the UUC upgrade. The engine is just as exotic sounding. Fit and finish / interior quality are pretty good but not BMW, but the driving experience makes up for that. Cost for consumables and aftermarket upgrades are significantly cheaper than BMW. Like the M3, the car handles in a way that defies physics/weight but the GT350 is even better at it......IMO, this car is better for me than the M3. The direction BMW took after the E90......well, BMW is dead to me, I canceled my BMW CCA membership :D

I'm sure others here can better answer (or have answered) your questions, I have only had my car for a little over a month.

Funny you said that, I also canceled my CCA membership after I bought my GT350, and joined SCDA ... But I missed my M3 and bought a 335xi for winter and rainy days. Great car, especially when tuned. I think I can take off the line quicker than in my GT350
I also owned quite a few BMW's :)
Edit: to be honest, if there was a car that I miss most, and I wish I could buy it back, it's the E46 M3 CSL. It has never been for sale in the US, I lived in Australia when I had that one. It is the most engaging, thrilling, soul stirring car I have ever owned. I might need to hide for cover after saying this, but it was better than the GT350.

My '16 Track Pack is the same as yours - definitely not a poverty pack, though that exhaust toggle would be nice to have...

I can't believe I've been member of this sight for almost three years when I first became aware of the gt350 I wanted one my original choice was the Clasic white with blue stripes when I originally looked into this car in NYC it was 20 k above sticker .As much as I loved the car I could not justify that price , I waited for the 16's adm was 10k and pretty much gave up I found a mint 14 gt500 in kona blue that I thought was a decent deal for 48k ,after numerous calls and emails I finaly recieved a call for a 16 tech in DIB for I think 900 over and I jumped on it yes it's a tech but when I saw the color I was sold.I know since it's a tech I will take a hit but long story short this purchase was Definitly worth it.ive had to many smiles with my 16 year old son to count and would never look back(unless I can get kona blue r at msrp) I aready have a fox body that will make this car look silly in a straight line but this isn't what this car is about.
My advice is do it you won't regret it.

Thanks for sharing. I bet the E92 and GT350 have similar DNA, kinda like cousins :)

On that note, this is a very long but interesting "watch" on the E92 vs 350.

Yeah, pretty sad what BMW has done w the M cars. I wish they would build a line of cars for enthusiasts again vs. ///Marketing mobiles.

At the end of the day... both great cars just go about their business slightly different. But I dont know that I want to go "back" to a 2012, the 350 is a '17 so will look and feel like a "newer" car.

I have a friend on his second E92 BMW that is thinking about a GT350 for the same reason.....

No no...... only the 2016 base owners can claim the poverty pack mantle.

I also had a Z4M so I can empathize with your E46 experience....but our memories of cars past are always greater than the current reality. I loved my Z4M and then years after selling mine drove a friend's before he sold it.....it didn't measure up in any way to the memories that I had ;) I did enjoy the Z4M but don't miss the potential VANOS failures that seem probable with the S54.

Why so many used ones for sale?

Based on what I've seen from this forum, I bet around half of the used market is made up of either '16 Tech Pack owners, who decided they wanted the extra coolers of the Track Pack, so traded in on a '17 or '18. Or GT350 owners who wanted to get the GT350R, and also traded in.

The rest are your typical "gotta have the latest sports car, then flips it when bored" or simply found the GT350 no longer fit their personal life needs for whatever reason. Then I think there's a smaller minority who had issues with their specific car and just didn't want to deal with it any more.
