So now I'm a little more confused, is it limited to 121 by the electronic speed limiter or by the tires? And if it's the tires, how do they limit it? Lol I'm sorry
It's probably electronically limited (by the Engine Control Module) because of the tires not being rated for speed over 121 MPH.

So if I was to get a tune to get past the 121 barrier, would also be wise to change the tires, along with other parts of course, correct?

If you think you're gonna drive it over 120 MPH quite bit, then you should have tires that are rated for higher speeds to be safe. I don't think you'd really have to change out any other parts on the car.

IMPORTANT!!!!!!!

If you have a V6, DO NOT remove the governor. Your driveshaft will explode. This was a known problem on the S197 and I have no idea why they didn't fix it.
Yeah with the two-piece driveshaft, that video makes me laugh every time. Do all of the new ones have a one-piece?

so you're saying the S550 V6 has the same driveshaft as the solid axel S197? or are you just making a wild guess?

121 MPH limiter? Is it just me who thinks that sounds like a bit sad on a sports car? On the German autobahn the Bimmers would be zooming past you. In fact, come to think of it my 'european' 2013 Focus had a limit at 130 MPH. So a Mustang is slower than a pretty standard Focus?? .. Weird.

That's exactly why I wanted to get to the bottom of this and figure out how to fix it as soon as possible haha, glad to see someone thinks like I do

Either way he's wrong, the driveshaft didn't explode in that video it was all a hoax, there's some info online somewhere where that myth and video were busted.
