Are there any non oiled panel filters for sale for the mustang (2015 GT)? I can't seem to find any

Does the K&N filter come pre oiled? Can you wash the oil off of it?

There are two available that I am aware of. Both AEM and AFE make dry drop in filters. The K&N does come preoiled and yes you could wash off the oil but with the media alone will not filter properly without the oil. The media between oil and non oiled is different. AEM is owned by K&N if that matters to you.

Great Info! Helps a lot! I don't know much about AFE or AEM, what's the general consensus? Which would you go for?

I had an AFE in my 2012 GT and I have an AEM in my 2015. I like the stock air box and do not think you could go wrong with either filter. Just remember, they are not going to gain any power but provides a reuseable filter. I paired mine with the Airaid MIT to get some additional noise by removing one of the resonators in the factory piece and it comes with the plugs to delete the sound tube if you choose to.

What made you go for the AEM?

Am I right in thinking that the K&N oiled will flow better but can damage the MAF sensor (oil it up) and cause AFR issues?

I am interested in this as well. But of course I now need to decide between AEM and AFE... lol.

I already installed a K&N (I bought it before learning about the dry synthetic filters).

Any reason why you chose AEM over AFE?
2 reasons. Small ones.

1) aem comes with its own intake tube which it claims to flow better than stock

2) familiarity with aem and its filters which are all made by K&N

I only chose it because I had the previous AFE in my 2012. The previous design of the inverted cone caused small maf noise. I did not realize they went back to the flat panel for the 15 design. I also liked the look of the Airaid tube more than the AEM tube and it remained plastic like OEM.

Excuse me for asking a dumb question, but why dry?

Can't say I have ever had any issues with my oiled filters in the past 15 years on over 30 cars.

That has to be the wildest paint combination I've seen in an engine compartment. is that front panel paint or a wrap?

It's just hydrographics. It's so cheap here in the Philippines that i can change every now and then. 40 bucks for hydrodipping work. Similar quality to shops in the States.
