It might be that gear options are limited initially, but the aftermarket will catch up. I'm certain of that, but it might be slow if the axle isn't shared with other vehicles. The 8.8 is prolific, so the volumes are huge. The same will be true of other differential options - out of the box, the choices will be Traction-Lok and Torsen, and that's it. I think you would be more concerned with the larger rear ring gear, more guys do stiffer gears than intakes, no longer an 8.8 diff, so that means no easy or cheap gear changes, IRS is labor intensive also.. You'll be running the same gear for a year or 2 until the aftermarket catches up.
