I have Cooper Zeon RS3-S, which are effectively the same thing, and I find them to be very good, especially for the price. They hook well enough on a drag strip (but I'm terrible at that; judging from other people taking my car down) and I did very well in autocross recently with them. Great daily driver tire. I can get them loose if I want to, but... it's not like they're just ice skates. I think they're the best value summer tire out there. I had Nitto Invos and they were AWFUL. I've never been on G2s but if I were getting tires NOW, I'd get Conti DW - they're very cheap on Tire Rack right now.Interesting, The price seems really affordable. Can anyone compare them to the MT Street Comp? Or can anyone suggest a tire that has a 280-300 Treadwear for a similar price? Thx in advance.
Hell yaWhen I'm ready to replace my Invo's I'm hoping the G2's will come in a 325....count me in!!
I had both, the G2 is a much better tire. The Mt street comps are garbage if you drive your car hard at allInteresting, The price seems really affordable. Can anyone compare them to the MT Street Comp? Or can anyone suggest a tire that has a 280-300 Treadwear for a similar price? Thx in advance.
Haha, ive noticed.I had both, the G2 is a much better tire. The Mt street comps are garbage if you drive your car hard at all
That's what I'm sayin! They kinda screwed the pooch on that. For the price the g2 is a damn good option if only they made a 305/35/20 size
10 to 11.5 lolThat's what I'm sayin! They kinda screwed the pooch on that.
They do have a 315/35/20 though. That'll fit on an 11" rim.
It all comes down to demand really, they have teams that research to see what sizes will make them the most and go from there. If there is enough demand for a model and a size they produce it.555r.
I have question I see a lot of people on with the same problem as me . I have 19 and they don't make the 555r for a 19. I'm just wondering why I feel like they would make a killing.
If you have boost then the G2s are useless in 1st and 2nd gear. My car does not hook up on the street until 3rd gear. If you have a set of 20s I highly recommend getting a set of the NT555R drag radials. I've run those on my 2013 Roush SC convertible from the summer of 2012 until I sold it in May of 2016. I would get 10,000 abusive miles out of a set and the car would hook from a roll in 1st. I also drove in the rain without issues...however, the end of the year was a little sketchy when the tread was almost gone.I'm in the market for some new skins. Finally had enough of the Zero's and not being able to really utilize the power of the Supercharger. P1 Roush, 3:31 gears. I have some 20X10.5 Vergen 9 wheels on the way. I'm looking at 315/35/20 rears and 275/35/20 fronts.
I've narrowed things down to these 555G2's, a lot of positive about the Continentals as well, then the Michelin Pilot SS. Net difference for the Nitto G2's vs MPSS is about $600. About $950 vs $1500 all in. Continentals are right there with the Nitto on price. Can probably beat either number by a buck or two, but a shop 200 yards from my house gets me really close.
I drive 50 miles a day, usually dry, but it rains in Houston. No track, not lowering, just spirited DD, county road pulls, etc. How much better can I expect any of these to be vs the Pirellis? Feather first, then 2nd gear effective without constant TC? After the wheel purchase saving $600 wouldn't be the worst thing ever, but I've always liked Michelin. I had a set of 315/35/15's on my 1987 Fox body GT. 15X8 Enkei wheels! Just a little bulge.....At the time those were steamrollers compared to the 225/65's it came with. Gotta find an old picture of that setup!
