Best use of a Coyote I've ever seen.If we got TVR's here in the states I would love to own a Griffith.

Agreed with this! There's just something about the convertible Mustang that I honestly hate. Top down is fine, I suppose, but top up is just ew.lmao
Cruel but fair comment!
Now...cars that were designed to be verts from the start can be beautiful. The Jag F-Type is gorgeous.
Not a big vert fan either but I would take a Super Snake Speedster.Agreed with this! There's just something about the convertible Mustang that I honestly hate. Top down is fine, I suppose, but top up is just ew.
I completely understand your dilemma - funny enough, my girlfriend bought her nissan rogue because we rented one on a trip and she loved it. Recently, I rented an Audi SQ5 while my mustang was in the shop for a week and I found a new appreciation for sport SUVs. The trans shifted quick, the paddles felt nice, power was adequate, the interior was great, and the pops in exhaust were fun when downshifting. I feel the same as you and it's hard to describe.Sadly, I find myself wanting to move on from my Mustang more recently. Maybe I just want something new but really I think my wants have changed.
For the longest time, I wanted to make my car as "race car" as my budget would allow though I find myself still not going to the track as often as I'd like and definitely not often enough to warrant throwing more money at the car. My desires have changed from street-able track car to track-able street car. Hell, I don't even drive it on the streets much cause I'm always paranoid about the car getting dinged or something. (I think the bright color adds to my paranoia, grabs too much unwanted attention.)
Recently, my wife had to get a rental car for a couple days while her car was in the shop. She got a little base model Jetta....it was SO MUCH FUN TO DRIVE! My mustang is faster, brakes harder, has way more grip and yet I genuinely found this little 150hp car more fun to drive....how that makes sense, I have no idea.
That being said, I think my next car will have to be light weight and usable as a functional daily, like a Civic Type R, or go more sports car like Corvette or 911 but then I'm sure I'd face the same scenarios I do now with the mustang.
Part of me still wants to put a wing on the mustang but then that'll only further narrow my potential buyers if I wanted to sell in the future.
I think another aspect of my dilemma is that I'm not enjoying having a 2nd car as much as I thought I would. I end up driving my daily everywhere and the mustang just sits in the garage. I think I'd much more enjoy having something I can use every day and still have fun with on the weekends or still perform well at the track.I completely understand your dilemma - funny enough, my girlfriend bought her nissan rogue because we rented one on a trip and she loved it. Renting a car is almost like a honeymoon phase - it's new, it's fresh, it's different, but once you own the car for a while, I think it will become the same in feel as your mustang. I'm sure you once felt the same excitement in the beginning. I still have videos of me flooring it in my new at the time mustang and being completely over the moon at the whole package. Now I find myself browsing for a potential replacement, yet unable to find anything close in performance per dollar while I pass my buddies in M BMW's at the track.
Btw, not that it matters(nor do I really care), but I've gotten more compliments on my Mustang than I have on my Mercedes and I've owned the mustang less than half as long. Just goes to show that, beauty and desire are all in the eye of the beholder.
Why not rent or Turo that Type R or vette or whatever and find out for yourself if you're missing out or not![]()
I get you - that's what my mustang is for!I think another aspect of my dilemma is that I'm not enjoying having a 2nd car as much as I thought I would. Completely agree on Turo. I need to rent a Type R or a Corvette for a weekend and see how I like it.
I've thought about another car but maybe more in addition to the Mustang and my truck I would like to have a fun daily driver. That may be my route in 5-10 years if I'm still tracking the Mach 1.Sadly, I find myself wanting to move on from my Mustang more recently. Maybe I just want something new but really I think my wants have changed. I'm tired of the "jack of all trades" muscle car stylings. It's too bulky to be a true sports car and yet also too sports car to make it a great daily.
