The filter doesn't fit anything else in the European Ford range. I'm sure dealers will get up to speed eventually.

We keep the filters in stock and use Millers oils which specifically meet the Ford standards.

Oil and filter change would be £125 including VAT with us. (No charge for staring at the Ford GTs in the shop though)

If only I was within a reasonable distance of Colchester, I know where I'd be going for servicing.

Interesting that^.

As I said, my filter turned up in a couple of days so I assumed it was shared with something else.

£125 is a pretty reasonable charge for an oil change.
That's the lead time from Ford's European stock. They'll be holding plenty given that it's a European car, not just us.

This is exactly the point. If GT-101 opened a branch in the north east of Scotland it would be a no-brainer
Unfortunately the nearest Mustang specialist to me that I'm aware of is a stones throw from the nearer Ford Store...

My Mustang was ordered through the Evans Halshaw in Wolves so no doubt they'll be doing the servicing too so thanks for the heads up McDoodle.

Also, your experience with them is not unique. I've never ordered a car from Ford before but coincidentally have ordered 3 vehicles from Evan Halshaw Wolves in the last 12 months. My Mustang, A Ford Ranger and a Ka for my sister in law. To be honest Ford in Wolves have been sh1te from day one on all vehicles. They NEVER answer the phone, it rings out for like 20 mins and never gets picked up, I'm calling the correct number BTW. Very unprofessional, yet whenever I go into the showroom there's two receptionists sitting there doing nothing! My sister in law had the exact same problem.

The lady I deal with who I ordered my Mustang through knows nothing about the car and takes a week to reply to emails if at all.

My Ranger delivery was delayed 3 months which left me without a truck for work as my other went back on lease. I only took delivery of it last week despite ordering in October. It still has no roller shutter or SatNav. The SatNav for the Sync 2 system requires a software update apparently which I must wait for and they never ordered my roller shutter until they had the car in stock. They couldn't get all the parts so I've had to wait until next week to have it fitted.

The guy who dealt with my Ranger order was a real nice guy but he rarely returned my calls and I swear I would've had my truck complete with roller shutter two weeks sooner if he was more organised.

My distinct impression was they turn over a high volume of vehicles and deal with so many customers that they inevitably end up not giving a sh1t. I still haven't got my Mustang so I dare say my general disappointment with them as a dealership is unfinished.

Glad to be of help. As I mentioned, they were absolutely clueless back in Jan last year and things don't seem to have changed. I went against my better judgment by booking it in with them, but I (foolishly) assumed that a straightforward job like wiring fix and oil change would be difficult to f:censored:ck up. How wrong I was.
You'll have to let me know when you pick yours up - same as mine by the sound of it, are you custom pack and/or auto? Do you also have that red/white stripes (is it '67/68? ... sorry I'm no Mustang expert) coupe that I've seen in Tettenhall a couple of times? Cheers ...

No mate that classic is not mine, never seen it before either which is a shame. My new car is a Black GT manual with Custom Pack. I'm going to insist they do not clean it when it arrives. The black convertible they had in the show room had swirling on the paintwork so I don't trust them to clean it properly, will get it cleaned by detailer I use in Walsall.

Where abouts you from then mate? And what spec you drive? I'll keep an eye out..
