Silly question but should new wheels and tires necessitate as alignment? Going from factory 9.5 & 10 x 19 to 10.5 & 11.5 x 20

Nope, needed after suspension work. Some people swap wheels and tires all the time for summer/winter or for track use.

For non-garage-queen, daily driven cars, yes, get an alignment.

Don't destroy your new tires because you were too cheap to get an alignment. It's basic service/maintenance, and needs to be done.

If it's a queenie, it just doesn't matter.

Couple questions to give you a good answer, how many miles on the car so far? Have you noticed or checked for edge wear on current tires at all? Does your Mach 1 have the HP or non HP? I know or believe most people that got the HP option wanted/should have gotten one almost right away especially if swapping tires as it seems most of them already had somewhat of a track alignment from the factory.

My cup 2's I was going to just wear out only ended up with about 4700 miles on it from alignment being out on the front tires. Cords poking out on both fronts.

I went from 18x8 to 19x9.5 squared, should I get an alignment? and would it be fine at a nonperformance shop like national tire and battery?

I have no idea what else you've done to your car, how much you drive it, what the tread-wear looks like on the wheels & tires you're taking off.

Anyways, I'd suggest just going ahead and doing it. Have you ever had the car aligned?

nope it's only got 1200 miles on it. It's just my daily driver with no performance mods. I've had the new wheels/tires on for like 500 miles, but guess I'll go to NTB this weekend

Most Mustangs are incorrectly aligned from the factory.

I'm getting new tires in a few days, using Craftsman Auto Care in Kingstowne/Alexandria. I'll have them align the front end to. Going to make sure there's 0 toe.

Track alignment?????
I don’t. Nor anyone that track their car, consider the ford alignment specs anywhere close to what a car that is tracked requires
Toe wear tires, not camber

I'm stating my car came out of alignment way out of street alignment and wore the inside of my front tires out.

Understood but you imply that your cup2 wear was due to having a track alignment
I just replied that it has nothing to do with it since track alignment only increase, and not enough, negative camber and camber doesn’t wear tires
But toe do and obviously that is/was the problem with your cup2

Just got new tires and alignment for the Bullitt (recent thread under Suspenion, Brakes & Chassis). Insides were down to the cord. As other more knowledgeable posters have mentioned more than likely a toe issue. In my case the toe was at zero and it ate my ps4s up. The alignment tech (old school guy with 30+ years experience) convinced me that with the -1.5 camber up front and staggered wheels I needed some toe-in (+) to minimize this issue again. Talked me into 1/16in of toe-in and told me if I see any abnormal wear to come in and he would adjust it for free. I guess I'll see if he is right once I put some miles on the girl.
