New to the Shelby world

I just picked up a new GT500 in eruption green with CFTP super powers. Found it up north near Buffalo NY and made an epic trip up to grab it with my wife. We hit some bucket list items while there, stayed the night and started our journey back to Texas the next day. It was a killer drive coming back in the fall with some very fun roads like, The back of the dragon, The tail of the dragon etc. Not having a spare tire and traveling on CF wheels was a little unnerving, but I managed to enjoy the best Ford I’ve ever owned. People complain about the seats, the ride and the fuel mileage but I love the car! People gave me thumbs up and smiles the whole way home, which cemented my choice in color as a win. I’ve read plenty of comments about green and most were negative until they saw it out in the sun… I have 5 green vehicles now and this one is #1… I will be roaming this forum with the rest of you for tips and pics with an occasional share of my own. My plans right now are to get the rest of the CF parts available and get the car PPF’d. A new CF SPE stage2 is on the way with some back up wheels next.

I don't know who's complaining about that green, it's gorgeous, probably people who are color blind. I bet you'll get more ribbing on the background of the 2nd picture than the color of the mustang on this forum

The Dodge in the background is a good friend who survived cancer recently and built his car up to 1200hp range after riding in my turbo vert. He has a fire to live and built his dream car…Now we both have our dream cars

Congrats on your bad azz ride! Flew out and drove my 22 GT500 home as well to North TX. The 500 can get good mileage if you want it to. I got 20mpg with cruise set to 73mph.

Congrats on a gorgeous car, love that green!! (but I'm biased). In low light it has a "British racing green" look to it. In sunlight however, the gold really pops. Great pictures BTW, some of those are calendar material..

Thanks! Agreed..it’s a dynamic color which is why I like it so much. My guard green 15’ is similar in that respect although not so dramatic of a change due to lighting. My first car was a 70’ green Mach 1 that started the love affair for green. It also would change from dark to light but very subtle…
