Hey All,

So i'm two weeks into my ownership of my brand new 2021 Mustang GT. It's got the 301a pkg, 6spd manual, and PP1.

I have a few issues and i'm wondering if anybody has experienced:

1) Creaking/rattling noise on the carbon fiber looking trim where the vac pressure gauges are.
2) I've noticed droplets of oil on my garage floor......this is more concerning to me than the rattle. Car has 400km on it. It's leaking from passenger side close to middle of the engine.

I've got an appointment booked for next tuesday to have them check it out, but any ideas? ANybody experience any of this?

Thanks in advance.

Are you sure this isn't AC condensation ?

Hey, ya I’m pretty sure. It was golden brown liquid. I also wiped it up and put a peice of cardboard down and the cardboard soaked up the oil. If it was water the cardboard would have dried out but this is definitely oil

thanks

Get used to the creaking/rattling from all over the car. The exhaust note shakes everything loose I think. Radio or higher RPM is the fix. These are noisy cars and Ford fit and finish is laughable. But even after all this, it is an absolute blast to drive and a TON of fun in 4 wheels.

Well.....first....the interior creaks are normal, especially when the car is cold and then heats up. The plastic expands and creaks/squeaks as it does so.

Second, it's probably not oil, but some rusty or dirty water.

Hey man. I've been driving my modded 15 EB for 3 years and my brother has a 15 Gt and from what we have both agreed on is that these cars tend to make odd noises from the dash. No idea why. Mine has always done it and it's sporadic. It happens at random. I never really looked into it because I didn't feel like it was a big deal.

As for the oil leak pop the hood and check all your seals/gaskets. Try to find where the leak originated. Could just be a faulty gasket.

They are not, in any way, shape or form "noisy" cars. At all. In fact NVH is kept remarkably low. These cars are stunningly quiet when cruising.

And Ford's fit & finish isn't much worse than any other car companies. It's just that psychotic owners obsess and find anything and everything to bitch and complain about.

The oil could be from the oil sensor near the oil filter or a loose oil filter. Those were pretty common issues on earlier S550's.

Drain plug to oil pan might be another area to check.

I would take it to your selling Dealership with the concerns and ask them to check it out. A brand new car shouldn't be leaking any fluids.

Thanks for all the feedback guys. And ya, about the fit and Finnish and odd houses, I’ve come to realize it’s a trait of the car. Lol. I’ve been spoiled driving luxury Japanese cars and this is my first American muscle car. So i will get my expectations in check. This car is built for a totally different purpose, abs luxury and fit and finish is not one of those purposes. Lol

It's not a muscle car. It's a Pony car.

Pony. As in Mustang.

I had creaking noise around the gauges for a while. Whenever i heard it i just randomly tried applying pressure to different spots around the gauges. Eventually that stopped.

The center dash rattle is a known issue. Not sure the dealer will fix that as all of them do it. If they don't fix it you will have to resort to ignoring it, or removing the gauge panel and the center dash speaker grille to put some foam tape at the attachment points.

As far as the oil goes, a leaky valve cover on the passenger side would do that. How far to the passenger side is it?

Not very far, it pretty much in the middle.
