So I have this one spot on the driver side above the 1/4 window that is like dirt under the paint. It's not a large spot but it is clearly noticeable! (I will upload a picture as soon as I get it back from Ford) Basically they are telling me that Ford has authorized the repair for the paint defect. However I am concerned once I mess with the paint in any way...the value of the car will drop. I only have 11k miles on the car 2016 GT. I'm also worried that if there is one another is bound to show at some point....

What are my options? I've never had any paint issues before.

This paint flaw showed up long after you bought the car?

Yes, it showed up later on...almost like something coming through the paint. They did check and it's clearly something that is underneath the clear coat coming through....

That's IMPOSSIBLE. It either was there or it wasn't; once the paint dries at the factory, it doesn't change unless it's damaged by an outside source.

The fact that the manufacturer is still willing to correct the issue after 11,000 miles speaks volumes in terms of their dedication to customer satisfaction. The paint repair won't change the value of the car at all, the only thing that affects resale value is accident damage.

Well it's not impossible because it happened. If an outside source did it then it would have been something within the pillar of the rear window that pushed from behind...

Also anytime a car has to be repainted it lowers value so I'm not sure what you are talking about it not changing the value. You either have factory paint or not. Unless of course you're talking about a show quality paint job.

I applaud the pat on your back that they went "so far above and beyond" to correct the issue. I assume that it's because they honestly know that it was something that was not caused by me.

I just tell myself the Mustang is a mass produced cheap sports car. As long as I don't see it from 10ft away, I don't care. Honestly, 5 years down the road when you sell it, the buyer probably won't care as it would deprecate so much mostly bought by teenagers.
