Mine is a late year 19 bought in March 2020 and showed a map update available last week, so I downloaded and installed it. Guessing this is an even newer update coming out.

What I found interesting was that I took before and after pictures of my screen with the before update info and after update info and not a single thing had changed as far as map version number, etc.

Really excited to get the latest updates assuming it even works.
OK, so you are new here. We need to cut you a little slack. There is a rule that we do not say anything disparaging about Ford and our Mustangs. Especially when it comes to the Sync 3 system.

Oh hell, who am I kidding. Welcome aboard Breee. I'm sure the download and install will be flawless. :cwl::crackup:

My 19' came with version NA 1 17 which I updated to NA 1 18. Because of a known glitch in the install process my screen still says NA 1 17 but i confirmed the files are actually NA 1 18. The latest version which is available on Sync 3.4 is NA 1 19. I'm guessing thats what we are going to bet next week. Unless, of course, there is a NA 1 20 that no one knows about yet.

Are you talking about a Sync3 update, or a map update? Hopefully the former. You only get ONE free map update (if at all), and if you already used it, then you'd have to pay for subsequent ones. I'm only going to get it if it's included, like it was with my 2018 F-150. But it was a PITA to do, and had to have the car with the ignition on (and a charger) for an hour; MUCH better than just idling, IMO.

Map update. I downloaded to the USB, that was a little time consuming. I inserted USB in car and drove while it updated; took about 45 minutes. Yes it was free for that one, as long as you choose download to USB. I may or may not have to pay for another update, :)

I may drive it this time too, since the battery on these cars is very small. And much more enjoyable than in the truck :D. I'll find out in a few days if it's free or not for me.

That does indeed suck. Though it is cheap compared to other manufactures. Recently paid $110 for the VW Nav Map updates.

Wade, I'm guessing that you had not downloaded a previous map and this is your first download?

If I read that correctly, they're not charging for the update per se. That's the price of a physical USB stick containing the update files, should you be unable to download them yourself.
