New Navigation map update June 29th

The first "download" is free. After the first one, there is no longer an option for a free download and you must order the USB with the files.

If I read that correctly, they're not charging for the update per se. That's the price of a physical USB stick containing the update files, should you be unable to download them yourself.

Did you already do the 1.17 to 1.18 update for free. Wondering if we only get one free one.

just my luck too.. only thing available here at work are 8 gig thumb drives.. i got a 16gig at home i'll have to use..

i wonder if USB HDD would work.. got a few of those laying around

That’s what I understand too. Just wanted to make sure el-gaupin already got his free one.

I tried to get the update and got the message about paying for a usb drive. But after rereading the message it sounds like I am trying to get the version I already downloaded and had problems getting it. Here is what it says on the site. I am thinking it is the same version as the one I did in February. I may be wrong let me know what you guys think.


If you have placed a previous order for a current Map Update via download, the USB you are attempting to order now contains the same Map version you previously purchased.
The option to purchase a pre-loaded USB after previously ordering a Map Update via download, is for customers who may have encountered an issue with the download process and now want to order the pre-loaded USB to perform the Map Update.

I personally would never pay for map updates considering I just use the maps from CarPlay anyways as it doesn’t seem to let me use the cars nav if my phone is plugged in and CarPlay is active. I would really like the new sync update when or if that will ever come out for the 2019.

yeah i was wondering what version the download was also.. cant see it listed anywhere

im currently on NA 1.18... are those that cant download the update on a newer version?
EDIT: i am assuming this new download is NA 1.19..

Interesting two weeks ago, I did the free download to the most current version. I took pics of what my screen showed before and after the update...It showed NA 1.17 before the update and NA 1.17 after the update. It had me scratching my head since it did show that it completed the update and all was good. If someone downloads the new one, please take note if reads something different than your current one. You would think it is going to show NA 1.18 or NA 1.19 but you never know.

I did the update back in February. I took a photo of the sync screens so I would have the vin and esn. After I did the update looks like I already had version na 1.18 on my system before the update. Now my voice recognitions don't work for the nav part only. Was hoping for a new version of the maps. Maybe it would fix my problems.

Yes. As you know 1.18 was made available last year. But had the issue with 3.3 still displaying 1.17 after the update was installed.

Is this able to be updated if you have a 2019 that was force installed to sync 3.4? It says i have map version NA118 now.. so i'm guessing it's already up to date?

I dont want to end up forcing myself back to 3.3 with the map update if so.
