I had three mods done today, Steeda H-pipe, Steeda shifter bushing, and Steeda transmission bushing. The car sounds awesome and the shifter feels great. I expected some NVH but I drove the car around for an hour and there was absolutely none. I’m so pleased with these mods. The only problem today was it was forty two degrees this morning and the roads were still wet from the rain the night before. Under these conditions the car can be a handful. I took it slow got there with no problem. I was going to put the car to bed for the winter, but I’m thinking about a set of all seasons now, I have a pp1 car, I don’t know what to get. Should I have them mounted on my stock rims? Is there a cheap steel alternative just for winter? Staggered square? I don’t know what to do. I think I will miss driving this car on a nice day.

Whats your price range? I just picked up some Ecoboost PP1 wheels from ebay for $180 each shipped. Just put on some blizzaks.
I’m not to concerned with price, blizzaks are awesome, but I was looking for all seasons. I would never drive this car in the snow. The 4Runner takes care of that. I just need to be able to take the Mustang out on a nice sunny day in the winter when the roads are dry.

I bought a second set of staggered rims and run Michelin Pilot A/S 3+.
I just bought my PP1 and didn't want it to sit all winter.

Would I be giving up a lot by just switching to A/S 3+ and leave them on year round

I'm going to find that out come warm weather. If they handle fine, I might be selling the original set with 300 miles on them.

I dont understand the modern obsession with NVH... Literally every RWD vehicle I've owned had a trans mounted shifter. This is the first car ive ever owned with a body mount and the MT82 is WAY WAY louder than any manual gearbox I've ever owned...

I say this because worrying about NVH with an MT82 is kind of like worrying about blood stains on your shirt after being shot by a shotgun...

It's kind of inconsequential...
Not singling you out OP just saying in general its sort o laughable... Let BMW owners worry over that crap this is a man's car....

There is no doubt that the A/S 3+ is not going to match the PS4 or 4S. That said they are really an incredible tire. Excellent grip in dry, rain, even light snow. Smooth riding and relatively quite. I would say better than the old OEM Pirelli summers (although that’s not a high bar).

By the way exit 8a. :like:

you can pick up a used set of PP1 Wheels on facebook for around 600.00

Id get those and put winter tires on them.
And when you go through ur current summers put all seasons on...

I ran through 3 sets of summers on my car in under 40k miles then i finally woke the fuck up and got all seasons.

The car handles just as good as the summers and now last longer than 8k miles...

The only thing that suffered is braking performance got reduced, its still very good. The road noise and ride comfort also got louder and rougher... ABS no longer works as well as the tires will lock up way before the system kicks in... This is my first car with ABS so dont really miss it...

That said not spending 1500 -1800 every year just to drive to work and Kroger is worth the moderate loss in performance.

Did you have A/S 3+’s? I had them on my 15’ up in NJ and found braking to be excellent in all types of weather (I never drove in moderate/heavy snow). Never had an issue with ABS or locking up. Noise was reasonable for an UHP tire. I found them to be very smooth.

OP stated he is not going to be driving in snow. No reason to buy winters now and all seasons in the spring.

Even if it did increase NVH it would not have bothered me, it’s that I read so many posts that said that it did , and I didn’t experience any

I ran the Falken Azensies however u spell them which were ok and the Pirelli Neros the all season version of the P zeros which are garbage... But, for driving to work pretty much any All season tire is great...

My favorite tire handsdown was the Bridgestone pole positions I freaking cried when i had to give those suckers up...

They hooked and were amazing at literally everything

Yeah Bro I got you... People love crying and making mountains out of mole hills because they bought the wrong car...

Unfortunately, I feel like alot of S550 owners are former BMW and Lexus drivers who traded out because Lexus is producing garbage and BMW ownership is terrible...

Can't prove this... But it feels like their aren't many of them that have owned Mustangs in the past. The S550 and S197 were leaps and bounds better than all the previous generations but it's still a Mustang. People are buying these things expecting them to be a cheaper to maintain BMW M3... It just isn't, and isnt supposed to be.

True. the previous gen were not worth owning at any price.

It is cheaper to own/maintain I should think. More refined? No. But then again it was also half or 2/3 the money.

I personally would leave the PP1 wheel+tire combo alone if you like the looks. (I hate black wheels) There are LOTS of inexpensive ($600-1000 shipped) wheel options out there. Spend some time on LMR and American Muscle or CJPony. Thurs or Fri I will be able to confirm whether or not a particular set of $70/each wheels (9.5" ET33) will fit over the Brembos or not. They should in theory...

Spend some time reading the reviews on TireRack. You can pick any of the top 6 of the category and be happy enough I should think. 245/40R19 tires (use 8.5" rims) can be significantly cheaper than the 255/40 or wider and it 's not like you need really wide tires for off-season and DD anyway.
