I just talked to Jesse and got these ordered for my Mustang AND my Edge. What are guys doing with the speaker wire side of things???
The video just up from your post, he explains you can interrupt some of the green harness wires and hook your speaker wire straight to that.

Right, I guess I should have been more specific. Are you guys going to run all new speaker wire to your speakers from the harness??? Or......use the oem harness speaker wire???

I wish I would have waited to do this...I would run a nine wire straight from that harness to the amp...if I'm understanding him correctly; I'm still pretty new.

FYI, only base model cars can use the harness to wire into, the Premium cars have to run all new speaker wire from the amp(s)

You got that right, harness is only for the base cars. He mentions it in the video.

I believe you guys are mistaken. I've been talking to Jesse for a few months now, I bought 2 harnesses for my projects. One is for my 2016 Mustang GT/CS Premium, and the second harness is for my 2011 Ford Edge Limited with Sony/NAV etc..

He's right. He says in the video it was going to be too hard to make a harness like that for the premium guys. You"ll be running new wire with his current harness.
Ok.....I understand what you guys are saying now. If I gut the OEM amp for its plug, I can solder to that and use the oem wiring correct???

no, sorry, we're not, lol he even says it in the video man. the harness will work on base and premium cars, however, you cannot wire your new amp into the harness if you have a premium car to avoid running new speaker wire, you can only do that on base non amplified cars.........

Did you install anything else, or just the harness. Do you have any tips on install?
Just did the install over the weekend and it worked out perfectly. My only recommendation is to take your time removing the trip pieces. Use a plastic trim remover and work your way around the trip pieces. Start from the passenger side and work your way to the driver side. Also, loosen the center console to slide it back a few inches to remove dash with less effort. I skipped this step and had a little trouble getting it back in. See video bellow for better explanation.

Check out post #2 on link shown bellow for locating an accessory wire for the amps remote. I used the wire shown and it works perfectly. Turns amp on when engine running. However it does not power it on when radio is on and engine not running. I don't have a problem with this since I do not plan on playing my radio with the car not running.

This was my second time behind the dash and it only took me an hour to do it. I broke some clips but no biggie. Everything went back together good. Take everything out behind the dash, and it makes it easier to get to all the harnesses. If you're hooking up an amp, I'd recommend using a 9-wire, and run that from the new harness to your amp.
