Everyone likes to talk crap about the Challenger as if it can't handle turns..

95% of the handling issue is lack of physical grip from the tires. Swapping on 295 MPSS on the rear and 275 MPSS on the front changes the car dramatically.
And add that same 275/295 MPSS tire setup to the Mustang or Camaro and they will still destroy it on a road track...

Was your argument really "add the best street tires in much wider sizes and it will handle like the OEM Mustang/Camaro setups" ? Heck, it still won't handle like the OEM setups.

I like all 3, and prefer them all equally. This comes from me spending significant time in them.

What an awesome time we live in.

Does anyone else kind of feel like modern performance cars have come so far that it's more preference and opinion rather than fact?

In the early 80s, the Mustang GT had 160hp. There was a long gap where Dodge had no muscle car, and a few years where Chevy just had the Corvette. Compared to those times, it's like a golden age of fun cars where manufacturers just keep throwing better and better stuff at us just to compete with each other.

Maybe others on this forum are way more skilled drivers than I am, but on the street the differences boil down to whatever puts the biggest smile on your face.

It seems the outcome would have been different without the Recaro seats... Interesting non the less.

The shifter: "The best of all the manuals," Robinson said, and Bragman added, "It feels very precise, with short, direct throws."

is ugly. This is not an opinion...... Well maybe it is better to call it an opinion supported by the vast majority. Most people think Rosy O'Donnell is ugly. I guess that is an opinion too.

Some would say Olivia Wilde is ugly. That would be a minority opinion.
If it is ugly, then you should buy one... then you won't be able to notice the others:

Visibility: "The super-high beltline combines with the low roof to make visibility the worst of all the cars here," Bragman said. Several judges agreed. "The Camaro is consistently criticized for its rearward visibility, but it's the compromised forward sightlines that are a liability both on the street and on the racetrack, especially when there are elevation changes," Wiesenfelder said.

I test drove all three. Went from a truck so I had no preconceptions.

Camaro felt quickest, but I didn't like its looks and it was uncomfortable to drive... visibility was worst I'd ever seen in a car and I couldn't imagine using it as my daily driver. Unimpressed with interior, thought it'd be nicer for the price.

Challenger felt slowest, but I liked its retro style and thought it looked most like a genuine muscle car. Tons of room inside, I surmised it'd be comfortable to take trips in. Interior was nothing special but I didn't expect it to be.

Mustang felt quick and had a great interior with plenty of room. Amazing visibility and awesome styling, and I thought the high-revving engine was really cool. Wife liked the Mustang most of the three and so did I. Thought it would make the best daily driver because it hit all the marks I wanted.

Camaro: fast, ugly
Challenger: sluggish, beautiful
Mustang: just right

I had seen that video before but didn't realize they were comparing a Z/28 and Hellcat to a PP Mustang. Seriously? I'd say the Ford did a darn good job!

Regarding the article I don't get the criticism of the Mustang's brakes. I find the Brembos easy to use and predictable, love them. I think the suspension could be buttoned down a bit more but it's pretty good. Just needs some tweaks.

I agree that the exhaust note is lacking but I took care of that easily enough. Heck, I enjoy hearing it on decel almost as much as accel.

When shopping, I kept reading about how comfy the base seats are and they did not disappoint. I took this car on a 250 mile trip (one way) last summer and the seats were great.

If they think the Mustang has a great shifter I would hate to drive the others. It is sufficient but not stellar.

The fit of my panels are fine. I spent about 5 minutes fine-tuning rubber stops in the trunk and hood. One reason I wanted to buy a late model year car was to hopefully avoid first year hiccups.

in any of the 3. I installed a Barton Short Throw Shifter in my car. It's amazing.

I'm curious why they aren't comparing it to the Challenger R/T Plus, which seems more like an even-line comparison.

How do you figure?
It's just my skewed opinion I guess, but when you're counting from the ground up, opting in for the "bigger V8" in the Challenger seems biased. (If that makes sense?) V6 to V6, V8 to V8. Once you start moving to larger engines, it seems like it's a different class. IMHO, it should have been 5.7 vs 5.0. I was comparing all of them when I bought my Mustang.. I drove the pure piss out of all three, and several variations of them. 1SS/2SS, R/T Base R/T Plus, SRT8, GT Base/Premium With/Without PP... I got my '15 GT Base brand new for $28,400. I couldn't get a Challenger R/T for that, unless I went used, or a 2014 model.

In the end, the lack of visibility in the Camaro turned me off, and 16 motherf***ing spark plugs is keeping me from ever buying another Hemi anything ever.

I don't think anyone has an issue with them using the 6.4 Challenger for the comparison.

Since the Challenger doesn't have a turbo 4 option (thank goodness), the V6 fills that spot for them, the 5.7 Hemi compares to the V6's and the 6.4 to the 5.0 and LT1. The Hellcat...well right now it's in a class by itself.
