NEW CLUTCH ISSUES!!!

Just got to 3k miles on my new lethal street warrior clutch, did new flywheel and clutch line also. It shutters bad off takeoff, has a noise at idle almost like the clutch is ticking on the fly wheel and it’s super notchy going into gear, what y’all think? Man, I hate it when the clurch doesn't engurge peoplely and chitters. :crackup:

I think the idle noise is the flywheel, and the shifting issue might be that the clutch (or clurch) is not fully disengaged.

Everyone seems to think that aftermarket upgrades are better than OE, but Ford does everything for a good reason (cost savings aside). They engineer their clutch assemblies for low noise, good feel and consistent performance. Sure, maybe they can't handle 1000 horsepower, but this is the slippery world of mods.

It could be that you still have air in the clutch line. If it isn't bled completely when you push in the pedal it may not be disengaging fully making it hard to get into gear as it is slightly dragging. There is a bleed procedure. Going by memory here but if I remember correctly on my S197 you had to pump the clutch pedal like a hundred times. Anyway, that is my guess.

I did the OEM TOB but why put a stock clutch in a car that’s will be fbo?

After a month of on and off the pedal you think there’s still some air in there? When I got the car back from the shop I can tell it was not completely bled and it was very soft a week later it felt all good after some city driving

OK you have to separate out the different issues. If there is a difficulty going into gear, and assuming you did nothing inside the transmission, that is clutch drag or input shaft drag. I cannot think of any other thing it could be.

Unless, of course, in the removal and re-insertion of the transmission fluid was drained and not replaced. Did you check the fluid level? Did you make sure if drained the proper fluid was re-installed?

Most aftermarket clutches will not be as user friendly as stock. Is the flywheel as stock cast iron or billet steel flywheel, or aluminum? Need more information.

Yes sir fluids are good, I’m not necessarily too worried about the going into gear part as I’ve heard the mt-82 has that issue, more worried about the shutter and noise I’m having.

If you want some help, you need to supply more information. What type of flywheel? Never answered that question.
"going into gear" means many things. Neutral to 1st or reverse? If your clutch is dragging, this will cause many problems.
And, just driving it 1,000 miles doesn't mean the clutch line is properly bled. To determine the issues, you need to go methodically through every possible problem thoroughly, eliminating that one concern before moving to another. This is the correct way to troubleshoot.

You cannot assume anything. Most issues are simple, but don't assume the line is properly bled.
