I’m still getting the 13th from someone that should know. We will see

Ford would blow it big if they didn't do a reveal approaching the NAIAS. If there are technical issues to buy more time, I could understand. However this was the target (easter egg dash) and if missed, wow, what a disappointment.

Yup! I’m hoping/expecting to see a mild teaser Friday AM on all major car pubs with maybe a snake logo or something with 1/13/18 at whatever time and a page or link for live reveal. That’s the smart thing to do.

Ford will announce the "New" GT500 will be built on the Fiesta chassis to compete with the other 500, made by Fiat. No striping packages will be available to save weight. After all, cars are just like cubicles, only with wheels.
Interesting. What I heard is that the GT500 will be bus sized but made out of carbon fiber to save weight. The car is bigger to fit more solar panels on the roof and to have two foot wide pillows surrounding the driver and passengers for crash safety. It will have geothermal, wind, electric, hydrogen and gasoline power, with 4 individual power plants running each of the 6 wheels. The gas engines will be a 1 liter 1 cylinder on each wheel with dual boost from both turbos and superchargers. There will be 6 coolers for each wheel as well. The interior will be entirely made of hemp.

Need to lock this thread until some actual news comes out.... every time I see a new post, I come in here like a 7-year-old running to recess.

I was browsing a thread on another forum and it sounds like the change in leadership, and the position changes within FP, there may be some things they were testing that don't make the cut, to make it more 'affordable' to buyers and more profitable to Ford. This will be a downgrade in performance I'm afraid, but the good thing is it shouldn't fall too far from the ZL1 price.
A bit of speculation involved but I'm reading between the lines of that post.
Still, will have to wait another month to see what made the cut.

Boy it's just not sounding very promising at all does it. Maybe it will be fine but after waiting all this time it will be a bummer if this is a half ass effort!

I would think at this point it’s kind a late to make major mechanical changes to cut cost, they would have to go back and re-test and tune everything and it would just be more wasted money. Unless they were just going to cut things that are cosmetic, I think it would all be a bad move though.
