You'll notice a heck of a lot more out on the weekend if you're still here (especially around the coastal suburbs of Sydney) - many owners here do not daily drive their Mustangs. Plenty of rain around this weekend, though, which will deter many of the garage queens.

Having said that, I'm surprised that you haven't seen more. I work in Sydney CBD (Surry Hills) and usually see quite a few around during the week on my commute and during my lunch break.

So I have been out at sea for 3 days. On the way to the sydney airport, I saw one more GT, which brings the total to a count of 4 for sydney for 3 days.

I've arrived in Dunedin today and I will keep a sharp eye.

Today, I walked around Dunedin. I came across an interesting 'stang. Check out the licence plate....

It would have been nice to talk to the owner. Obviously an enthusiast.

Hope you are having a good time.

When you hook up with Sam, tell him I said hello.

I will do a full write-up when I get some time. It was great meeting Sam and his wife.

Follow up.....

I arrived at Christchurch NZ yesterday and was greeted by Sam and his lovely wife. Sam and I did nothing but talk cars to the point that our wives have had about enough. A short change of the topic and sure enough, back to talking about mustangs, social media, and such. As Sam pointed out, sometimes I am a bit outspoken.

We had a wonderful lunch together and despite my best attempts, Sam picked up the tab. I felt so appreciative that he and his wife spent time with us, that I wanted to buy, but oh well.

After lunch, the subject matter came down to "so what do you guys want to do". Sam had suggested the local Ford dealership to see what they had laying around. My wife, Sam's wife, and a friend of mine opted for a tour of the local museum. Me and Sam? Off to the local Ford dealership.

When we arrived, I was shocked to see an F150 supersnake, various mustangs on the lot, a Roush stage 3 in progress, a GT500 in the garage, and a raptor in the service bay. It was then I realised that Ford has quite the following here in NZ.

Sam is probably one of the biggest Ford enthusiasts I have ever met. Not only does he have 1 of 4 GT500 super snakes in the entire area, but he is (IIRC) the head of the local Shelby/Ford car club in the area. An amazing guy. I hope he takes me up on my invitation to visit with us when he is in the states. Maybe he might be tired of listening to my bitching and whining about how social media has influenced the car industry and how Ford seems to have lost its way, but in the end, what I enjoy most about the Ford experience is the people that I have met that share the same interests and enthusiasm about a common interest. But I digress.....

So it was really wonderful to meet such great people who share in the same interests halfway around the world.

I leave you (for now) with some photos of my day with Sam at Christchurch NZ where the mustang and it's people are alive and well.

He is supposed to hook with me and Val when he gets to the states. Hopefully you are around and ALL of us can get together.

The day before yesterday, I was in a beach town called Tauranga. I sat next to a local who noticed me take the above picture. We began to talk about mustangs and he explained to me that Ford has a presence in NZ and they have to sell a certain amount of mustangs to be able to participate in the auto racing here.

Anyway.....

I am wrapping up my time here in New Zealand. I have found the people to be very warm and friendly. I do love it here for many reasons..... The people, the beauty, and the society here itself. If it wasn't so far away, I would have a residence here. I really do love it.

So, I have been communicating with another member here who lives in the Aukland area. We tried to catch up yesterday, but the circumstances didn't allow it. Phil, @POJ 1 , has been on a rodatrip with his Bullitt. He was kind enough to send me some photos of his travels around New Zeland. I will post them here for everyone's enjoyment.

Again, I have found the enthusiasm of the Australian and New Zealand mustang community is very much like that of ours back in the states.

I have been fortunate to see that various stages in the wild here and meet the people behind them.

Please enjoy the following photos courtesy of @POJ 1
