Just wanted to give anyone who has any doubts or questions in regards to Wengerd for tuning their car my personal experience and input. I have a 2022 Mach 1 and had basic bolt-ons installed about 3 months ago. Shortly after they were installed I was tuned locally by a highly respected tuner in regards to Mustangs. Will not disclose the name but for the most part my experience was fine. Shortly after I noticed I was having cold start issues which had an erratic idle almost like the car didn’t know where to have the idle set to. Idle would not return down until car was driven. This was blamed on the behavior of e85 when cold. This would happen whenever it was hot or cold start idle logic seemed completely wrong but I was informed that nothing was changed in regards to that and switching back to 91 would fix the erratic idle. Recently switched back to 91 and was still having the exact same problems. Idle behaved exactly how it was running on e85. That’s where I drew the line and decided to go with a different tuner. After purchasing a N/A tune from Wengerds website I get an email shortly and described what mods and tune I wanted, a safe but fun tune with a little character(added burbles yah I know). He sent me a base tune which upon immediately starting up completely fixed the problems I was having which I never informed him of funny enough. Sent a couple datalogs over and he nailed it first try. Car was running absolutely amazing on 91 even felt almost comparable to the power band it had when on e85. Drivability was definitely 10/10 never once had a problem(been with Wengerd for about 3 weeks). He assured me the everything looked great on the datalogs and I was good to go. Here is where he went above and beyond, I was really picky for how I wanted my car to sound. I wanted the added burbles but nothing at all like the popcorn tunes some people put on these. His patience, effort, and time he put in for such a nitpicky thing is what blew me away. We went through around 6 different revisions trying to find the right sound without the obnoxiousness. Today we finally dialed it in and I could not be happier with my results. Long story short if anyone is looking for a reliable tuner who going to go above and beyond then I wouldn’t recommend anyone before Wengerd. Sorry for the long long post but thought I’d give yall my full experience and thoughts. Hope yall have a great day!

Just here to echo your sentiments as my car was 93 tuned by @Wengerd Performance. I have no major engine modifications (carbon trap removal, drop in filter, resonator delete H-pipe) but was looking to get the 10 speed shifting sorted out a bit. Have used it for two track days now since the tune earlier this year and the car drives great.

I had to put the stock tune back on recently to have a recall done and it was a unwelcome reminder of what the stock shifting was like in normal mode.

I have no doubt in my mind when I get E85 and SC in the near future I will go with Wengerd. I have seen so many positive experiences its really a no brainer. How does the Mach 1 feel with E85? You have the Tremec? Care to share your mods? :like:

Just Catted LTH, Res Delete, and carbon filter removed. I do have the tremec. With my previous tuner when on E85 it felt like she wanted to keep on revving if you get what I mean. Wanted to breathe. I’m N/A but on e85 you can definitely feel the difference from 91. Gained 40hp from just the fuel swap. I liked how it felt on e85 but since I daily it didn’t like how often I had to fuel up.

Same result. My requirement was a ā€œsolid, all around, good performing tuneā€. Only specific request I had was a hot idle issue I did not like about the factory settings. Same thing, a couple of revisions and GTG, including the idle issue. I may have him bump it up another 150 rpm or so hot, but this personal preference chasing that strong idle sound. Been driving several month and several thousand miles thus far, and it’s flawless. Crazy how much you can improve driveability over stock (or maybe it’s not crazy).

Had to delay setting up my 85 logs, but I have a 55 gal drum of E85R on the way from Sunoco to dail it in with. Expecting that to be fun.

I cannot lie, Wengerd has been spot on with my upgrades and tunes to include my E85 current 14lbs boost, starts drives as good as it did bone stock. I mean it is fun to drive.

Another happy customer. Wengerd keeps hitting it out of the park.

Any issues?

I've been Wengerd tuned since 2021 and more recently an e85 tune this past spring. Tunes have been great and I just truly appreciate the fact that he responds. I data logged a pass at the track last week and had a question, sent the log over to him and within 10mins he reviewed and responded to my question. Even sent me a tune revision to address it.

I just looked at the number of back and forth emails I've had with him. 139 😁

I am new to the tuning aspect of these cars and have a few questions if yall dont mind helping. I have a 22 GT with no mods except resonator delete to h pipe and the air box mod to remove charcoal filter and a driver side oil catch can. More than anything i want the transmission tuned but is there much to gain on engine performance if not going to ethanol. I have limited 93 resources in my area but always run at least 91. Question two. How do i start the process. Do i need a dyno or can i buy his tool and just email him tunes and requests.

With the gen3 you’ll gain some Hp and toque from a tune and even more so on E85.

But with a tune you’ll have your shift points adjusted which will be an improvement and transmission tuned.
Wengerd has my 10R80 shifting great and much much better than stock.

Go to his website and start the process there.

You’ll be more than happy going with him.
