So youre between the lowest model and the gt? I would think people are comparing the V6 or EB or EB to GT.....Not really much of a comparison between a GT and a v6.....
I'm between an EB and GT before the event. After seeing all 3, I would take a base V6 over an EB or get the GT outright.

Even some of the Ford guys there were saying they want to take out the 2015 V6 but Ford isn't letting them get their hands on it. If you don't care about the premium features, then the V6 is a very nice package for what you get.

The guy who bought it said he can't believe how nice, powerful and quick it is. He had a 2012 V6 and said it's night and day how nice the 2015 V6 is. That's why many of us want a V6 to EB comparison which is impossible to get.

Also if you compare all 3 models, the difference in a base vs premium is not that much. Leather, Climate Control, Trim pieces, Rear Diffuser, Toggles (but you get 2 of the 4 anyway and you get all 3 steering modes on any model), and side lamps. The rest of the car is pretty much the same.

Ahh I get your point. Understandable. Ford is just obviously really pushing the new EB. I thought their plan was to ultimately axe the V6 or leave it for rentals?

Yep, that's the plan. But with this whole new redesign, no ones really got to drive the Cyclone V6 in the S550 so no one has any base line here. After talking to the guy, he thinks he got a hell of a car that would have costed him in the mid 30s for what comes/he gets with the V6 in power and the new design/features.

They were pushing the EB hard at the event but that is what they are doing. If you read my response in the bucket list thread a few posts down you can see everything from the event I came away with.

Would be interesting to see a V6 with PP stacked up against the EB with PP.

Hey Sal....I NOW see WHY you need the remote starter...too funny...hope you're getting the heated seats too!

Never gave the V6 any thought, I know it's a great engine....for me, it was either the GT or Eco..time will tell.

Not sure if matching performance part for part in the V6 and Eco...what the respective gains and costs would be. Still...I like the build ability, power range and the potential gas mileage of the Eco...at least this moment, this day, this month, this year, I think I've made the right choice for me.

Gonna be a Great ride either way!

That was supposed to happen. They nixed the PP and Premium ones for the V6.

If it's possible after market, I could go the V6 route and upgrade a few things to premium features. After driving the EB, I just came away not that impressed.

Felt like a turbo 4, but I want something that has that American feel to it. I have a V6 now and I love the engine sound and feel.

Yep you'll love it for sure.

As for me, if I upgraded, I'd be upgrading the V6 to more premium features, not performance ones (but I would add a CAI)

There are already tunes (yes, just a tune) on this board for the EB that basically eliminate the drop-off after 5500.
I assume you are talking about this one?:

http://www.mustang6g.com/forums/showthread.php/bama-ecoboost-tune-3705p2.html

Yes hp does run well past 5500.

But in this one, the tuned curve is virtually identical to the stock one:

Until we see the finalized tunes, I wouldn't count on anything.

Getting rid of the dip at 55 is a pretty significant improvement in my view. You are right though, only time will tell.

I agree, and had overlooked it originally. Is curious that the other dyno follows the stock curve almost identically.

As I think about it...If I can get maximum forward movement with tires that hook up and get the power to the ground...and that comes between 2000 and 5500 RPM..I'm REALLY good with that, AND I'll know where to click those little levers each and every time.

Still .....I too am very very curious to see who makes what and those results.

I definitely need it..

I could've used it on my 2010 Mustang GT when we experienced the snow storm of the century in Dallas Feb. 2010. We rarely get snow but back in Feb. 2010, Mother Nature dumped a foot of snow on us overnight! No snow plows or shovels in the area!

The difference between the dyno graphs for these vehicles is the transmission used. Ours is a manual trans car where its much easier to get numbers from and the graph looks better. IMHO its more accurate to use a stick car for dyno comparisons over stock.

I don't think you can go wrong with any of the 3. Disappointed Ford is not letting the S550 V6 get compared to the S550 EB. I mean Ford is doing an Apples to Oranges comparison by using the S197 V6 vs the S550 EB. I mean how is that even a comparison?!?

I plan on giving both a good drive when the dealers get them in.

Would love to see Woodbine or someone else get a V6 and run it through the ringer vs the EB.

Having recently owned and modified a'13 V6, '13 5.0, I am sooo looking forward to what I can get out of this EB.

I've had great results from my previous 2.4L turbo engines. Those were in american cars too. With all of the EcoBoost engine platforms the time has come to accept these motors as our own.
