I had the opportunity to test drive a Race Red Ecoboost this afternoon. It was a premium model with auto and 50th appearance package. There were 3 people in the car - me, my wife, and the salesman. As we walked up to the car, he remote started it. The first thing that I said was, "Sounds like a 4 cylinder." My wife agreed. Sorry, no pics, my phone was dead.

I was pleasantly surprised at how the car drove. The power was smooth and adequate, and quite impressive for a 4 cylinder. I wasn't thrown back in my seat, but I got up to 80 before I realized it. I thought I was doing 60. The sound of the engine in the cabin was good. The ride was quite smooth, but I'm comparing it to my 2012 Brembo Gt.

The word that keeps coming to mind about the whole experience is refined. The fit and finish was excellent, and everything felt well placed. The 50th appearance package looks great in person. I truly feel that this is a great step forward for the Mustang.

Overall, well done, Ford.

How did the auto perform? Did you try it in sport? I'm still having heartburn about ordering an automatic.
The shifts were precise and smooth. Didn't mess with the drive modes. It was a short test drive, I had to get back home, so I was only in the car do about 5 minutes. Having said that, and coming from a diehard manual fanboy, the auto was real nice, and I wouldn't be upset if I had to get an auto.

Same state, different city. I was at Bluebonnet Ford in New Braunfels, right outside of San Antonio. Looks like the same car though ... lol
Oh holy crap, really? I'm in south austin... I may have to make a trip down there to see it hehe. So I'm guessing no performance package on it then?

If you haven't seen one yet, I'd definitely go see it.
