Mustang sync 3.4 music updates

I have sync 3.0 and I’m having issues with it. When my Bluetooth isn’t connected it automatically starts playing a loud radio station, same for if Apple Music isn’t connect. I want to know if the new sync 3.4 automatically changes the music type or if it finally stays on one now. I tried just using Bluetooth but it would it disconnect to radio if I last plugged into Apple CarPlay(I like not having to connect anything). I like using Apple CarPlay more since it’s way better but i don’t like having to plug in the cable every time it takes time to take the phone out my pocket then it doesn’t connect if the cable is getting old from plugging in and out to many times. My 2 last options was to update sync 3.4, or just leave an extra iPhone plugged in and never unplug it with my music. Which so far is the best idea I tested it out and it does start the music first every time from the phone instead of the car radio. Anyone can tell me if sync 3.4 update is anymore better for music? Also I did try using CarPlay2air doggie at first it didn’t work but the updates made it work just takes way to long to connect and sometimes it doesn’t. Extra iPhone is still my best option but anything better about sync 3.4? For a mustang.

I actually like that if I"m not connected via bluetooth or Android Auto that it doesn't sit there silent and reverts to either radio or Sirus/XM. I tend to listen to radio or Sirus/XM on my shorter drives. I know that doesn't answer your question, but I haven't tried to upgrade to Sync 3.4. There is really only one way to find out and that is to do the upgrade or is there a reason you haven't already?

Does Ford have an official update to 3.4? When mine checks for updates via Ford Pass, I always get the message that I have the latest update.

There’s no official 3.4 release update yet. The only way to have 3.4 is if it came stock or if you use the unofficial update.

Ahh okay. This would be why I could not update from 3.3 to 3.4. It failed 3 times so I gave up.

Thanks. Seeing that another poster said he upgraded from a 2018 to a 2020 and now the song being played is not displayed on the dash...guess it one of those where the grass is not always greener on the other side.
