Two issues I’m having with SYNC (3.4) in my 2023 car. First my option to select the number of preset channels/stations has disappeared. Second, when I use the steering wheel button to scroll through my presets it will only scroll through the set of six that are showing, as opposed to scrolling through those six then the next six and the next…like my 2019 F-150 (SYNC 3.3) does.

I can scroll between sets of six if I use my finger to swipe on the touchscreen but that’s awkwardly out of reach for me; and distracting from the road. I'd like to go through all my favorite stations with just the wheel button.

My commute would be more enjoyable if I could solve these couple of quirks. Please help.

That’s normal for sync, it’s been like that in all the Mustangs
I'm surprised the newer software would take a step backwards like that. Bummer.

Can I downgrade to 3.3 to get the scrolling feature?

I just turn it off and listen to the sweet sounds of Coyote. Radio is simply a toy to distract me from what is important. It has to be swiped like every other Mustang so if I need to actually find a preset then I pull over or do it at a red light.

You can use the 'M' button on the steering wheel to jump to the next set of stations. Unfortunately, when you are in the last set, it will jump to the next media source. Then you have to just repeat pressing the 'M' button until you get back to the first group of stations. This could be just as annoying as having to swipe the screen, but safer to do it this way while driving.

If you have Forscan and don't have Sirius XM, you can remove the Sirius media source altogether. So there's that option too. Also, if you don't plug in a USB media device you won't need to go through that source either.

yeah, unfortunately my 2020 gt/cs mustang is like that too. Hopefully, the s650 will change that.

I did the soft reset and then the master reset and still don't have the option to change the number of presets. I'll look into an over the air software update next.
Sorry, but that won't change how the presets behave. It's how it is. Try using the 'M' button as I described in my previous post.

What I was hoping to accomplish with that was to at least restore the option to select how many sets of preset channels there are. It was there before then vanished.

Once you have moved from Sync 3.0 to 3.2+, you cannot revert to a prior version without hardware flashing.
