Hey guys, what are the must have mods for the GT350 (or R)? So far, I just have the Steeda clutch spring kit, and the rock blockers. Trying to figure out what the musts are, and here's what I have so far:

- Oil Separators
- Resonator Delete (already have that with my R)
- Floor mats -- Do they wear better if I get upgraded mats?
- Oil Pump Gears -- Would I need those without boost?
- Lug Nuts
- Caster/Camber Plates

Am I missing anything?

- Oil Separators - Good idea

- Floor mats -- Do they wear better if I get upgraded mats? - mine are fine
- Oil Pump Gears -- Would I need those without boost? - "Boost" doesn't kill oil pump gears, harmonics do. Completely unnecessary unless you're changing the harmonic balancers or running 900+ RWHP

- Caster/Camber Plates - Are you going to be tracking?

Am I missing anything? - Driver mod

Funny how, when you look at all the mods, you realize the car needs nothing in fact. It's great how it came from the factory :)

Maybe camber, to help with tire wear...

The only mods I consider "must haves" are Caliperfexion studs and oil separators (I use the FP to keep the stock look), and both of those are needed only if you track the car.

The two other mods that I, personally, wouldn't do without are 4-point harnesses (also only needed if you are tracking the car, just to hold you firmly in your seat) and jacking rails. I just installed the latter a month ago, and I wish I'd done it long ago.

These are my mods followed by opinion on must or not. I have a 2017 R.

Steeda Clutch pedal spring
Must - Changes the feel of clutch pedal (still not perfect though)

Clutch pedal extension
Must - Allows a better seating position (I'm 6'1")

5lbs halotron Extinguisher
Must - Personal preference

Foam inserts behind seat delete
Must - Anything loose in the trunk, ends up under seat delete.

Cargo net
Not - Personal preference

Tow hook and bracket
Must - Whether you track or not, car has no stock facility to pull it.

Jacking rails
Must - Prevents damage to underbody from incorrect lifting

Carbon driveshaft
Not - No perceivable change for me (perhaps a very small reduction in NVH)

Caliperfexion Caliper studs
Not - Must if you track and have frequent pad changes

Ceramic brake pads for street
Not - Must if you hate brake dust, they produce zero dust. If you track, you have to switch back and forth

Pass side oil separator
Matter of opinion, I don't remove a lot of oil, but theoretically, you don't want any on the top of the pistons where it can build up deposits. Most likely a must. People say driver side does not accumulate much and is not necc. I have not verified that.

Hood struts & prop bar delete
Must - The prop bar is simply in the way and tacky for a "special" car

Shelby turn/fog light w/interior switch
Not - I was looking for "off-road" led brightness, these practically illuminate nothing

Carbon steering wheel
Must - alcantara is not forgiving to constant sweat and friction

2 port USB hub in center console storage
Must - Allows me to have ipod and phone to be connected under storage, rather than have a cable running in front of shifter.

Less warm LED in dome light
Not - Personal preference

Dashcam w/ hardwire install
Not - Personal preference

Ceramic paint treatment
Not - Not really a huge fan, I'm old school. I think I prefer collinite.

PPF
Must - I only did hood, big mistake. You need it on the kidneys, in front of the rear wheel.

LED navigation lights on rear bumper
Not - Personal preference

K brace
Not - No discernible change for me. Tram-lining is a matter of front width and tire compound IMO.

Rear Aluminum Vertical Links
Not - If you a tracking, all these suspension mods begin to make sense.

Rear IRS Subframe Support Braces
Not - Butt suspension tester doesn't see a huge change

Forscan mod (remove double-honk)
Must - I get out of the car when running with key in pocket all the time.

Cheap p51 101rf wheels with conti tires for street & new tire sensors.
Must for the R - street compound removes tram-lining completely, saves the carbon wheels from damage and theft and saves expensive PSC2 rubber for track.

Front "mudguard" to hold back rocks
Must - Especially with PSC2, everything sticks and gets launched down the side of the car.

Tow hook front license plate bracket
Must - If you don't want to ruin your front bumper looks and law requires a front plate.

Remember, this is just my opinion. Decent driver but no track rat, still a lot to learn.
I may be missing some mods, I will update when I remember.

Source for good struts/prop delete?

We need to start convincing new forum members to get OPG's installed on their cars so we can start a long term cohort study.
