I have a 2018+ gt looking to get a good short throw shifter, just wondering which would be my best option that most people would have experience with? Specifically to help reduce being locked out of third/fourth gear. Not sure if it matters but I will be putting a vortech kit on the car making around 600-650whp.

Also, as a general question, Every time i engage the clutch specifically in 1st or 2nd gear (lower rpms), I hear this very faint squeaking noise similar to what sounds like a squeaky bed frame almost. Anyone know what that could be caused by? I got the car with 10k miles on it and its at 26k right now.

If anyone has any suggestions or advice it would be greatly appreciated

How is the shifting, do you ever get locked out of any gears at 7000-7500rpm?

I haven’t gotten locked out of any gears between 7000-7500 rpm yet. Shifting is best described as very mechanical and notchy feeling, but in a good way. That could be because I am running the stiff springs.

I got my Bullitt with 19k miles on it, and the shifter was total poo.

Very sloppy, long throws, mushy. Lacked refinement in the gates, and no real feedback towards being in gear.

I did encounter 5th gear lockout a couple of times, as well as lockouts downshifting here and there with body roll.

I tried the Steeda clutch line, and clutch master feed line. Zero percieved difference.

Went Barton Hybrid 3, trans mount. Huuuge difference. Night and day. No more lockout, and super positive feel. Short, precise shifting. I installed their stiff side springs, which makes finding gears idiot proof.

Felt a bit stiff, so I went with a heavy shift knob to balance out the force equation. Starting shifting very well!!

Then, I went with a Boomba Trans mount, which really pulled things together. Then BMR engine mounts. Shifting/trans movement is sorted. Couldnt ask for anything more.

I highly suggest an aftermarket trans mounted shifter. MGW and Barton are the 2 big names. Fantastic shifters!!!

The MGW would be a huge upgrade over stock for sure and help get cleaner more precise shifts. Plus MGW offers 2 shifters and 3 handles to change how much of a throw reduction to you want as well. Hit me up and I can help out with an MGW as well.

For the squeaking noise, are you getting any clutch slip?
