MT 82 1st to 2nd

I’m having problems with my 6mt shifting from my 1st to second I have to finesse and line it up perfectly and kinda pop it in if not it’s almost like a spongy feeling and it won’t go in, that’s upshifting and downshifting if I don’t do it just right it’ll grind, also once it’s in second there’s no pop outs or anything even under wot I also don’t have any issues with any other gears it’s progressively gotten a lil worse so I’m trying to decipher between a bad shifter and tranny issues. The car has 86,000 miles new tranny and clutch about 20k miles ago

Have you checked your clutch pedal for fatigue/breaks at the weld pivot? There's been report of such failures and it can lead to shifting issues.

Sounds like “Lockout” is the term you’ll want to search for, many threads here on that topic. Comes down to the body mounted shifter being misaligned from the transmission at WOT, since the transmission is rotating in its mounts under power. There are a variety of shifter/transmission brackets to help with that issue or a new shifter which is transmission mounted and thus eliminates the misalignment problem.
