I just want to kick a dead horse one more time! Here is a little history on the 2014 GT500 selling price. MSRP 67,655, average selling price 59,813... I'm sure some people will try and contradict this, but it's a reality I'm sticking with. https://twitter.com/mikeartegiani/status/625692715557126144

That price is for a loaded vert not a coupe. Do a little more research so that your numbers are apples to apples.......Steve

Coupe Base Price MSRP $55,110 Destination $825 Total Base Price $55,935 Options Equipment Group 821A $3,495 Black W/Red Accents, Recaro Leather Sport Seats $1,595 Glass Roof $1,995 Price with Options $63,020

Few cars were sold without any options at all

As someone just said that is for a loaded vert.

Coupe started at $55,935 w/delivery
$59,430 w/SVT Performance Pack
$68,445 w/every option even accessories minus ash cup
the options added up to $12,510

So no, your MSRP is not remotely close, but I could see where the average selling point is more on track because if I had ordered one it would have come with the SVT Performance Pack.

I'm the stupid Twitter guy. Lol. Didn't know how to post a photo... I think I should have been more clear with my point. My point is, if the GT500 was selling below MSRP, wouldn't one expect the same with the GT350? The model is clearly irrelevant. I've got a dealer friend who is honest and confirmed new unsold GT500 are out there. Obviously the demand here might be higher but so might production. I've be there are people a few grand below MSRP.

I'm having trouble actually finding dealers who will ORDER. I've called quite a few and they're all saying about the same thing. No idea on the allotment that's going to be given out and it's a kind of "lottery" where the dealer will get one maybe two. Then of course the ADM talks start up.

I can't seem to find anyone who will actually ORDER one with a guaranteed delivery. They'll take an order but "there's no guarantee that's what we'll get." I've heard of ADM's from $15k to $30k.

I heard the audio from the event in texas speedway when the audience asked about production numbers and the ford guy quoted jay leno in some doritos commercial "don't worry we, will make more!"

i am not familiar with that commercial but that implies to me that itll be ok to just wait.

Yep. ADMs galore on the '13 GT500s in my area.

Now ... you can pick up a '13 with a 1,000 miles on it for KBB. That's around a 15k swing

I'm betting once the end of August rolls around people will be up to speed on the order process. I really like the Doritos quote, makes sense to me

That's a three-model-year-old car, so that price shouldn't surprise you. But it's probably making the guys who bought a GT500 as an investment cry.

There is a hysterical level of nonsense on enthusiast forums about any new SE offering in the Mustang world at this point in the sales run which is entirely fueled by greasy, unethical, retailers who have much to gain by the perception of scarcity.

Autotrader does not correlate to what you state in that 13s have an asking price of mid 50s in general, so they have lost very little and the 14s even less.......Steve

Yes and asking prices are the same as selling prices, right? There were still GT500s sitting in retailers hands looking for a home 6 months after they stopped making them. There were unsold KRs 4 years after that run ended. There has NEVER been a shortage of these kinda cars regardless of what your friendly neighborhood Ford dealer tells you.

Buying a new model car as an investment is insane, unless you're a limo driver or earn some kind of income off its use or you are 20 years old and plan to profit when you're 85 years old. I understand the value loss is less compared to other vehicles. As far as an ROA, good luck, toilet paper might be a better investment. Lol

No one I know bought one as an investment nor would they even have a notion of it being such. Now owning a great car that depreciates far less than most any cars produced today then yes they succeeded.
