You don’t want to know
Hey, you guys - the mods said we have to play nice and not call people names. However, I don't think they said anything about hoping someone gets eaten alive by a flock of those little black no see ums that plague Florida.

You are selling a "spot in line". Absolutely unbelievable. Hate to break this to you my enterprising friend but your "spot in line" isn't worth anything more than a head shake and a good laugh.
This guy is only like 23-24 IIRC. No offense to the young guys, but this is how the upcoming generation behaves (not all of course just some, like him). He is not a loyal car guy for pulling a stunt like this as he had no intention to ever buy the car. Just trying to profit from others.

I'd rather spend the time finding a dealership myself. There are tons of good members like u8mylunch and R 350 gt Donson who want the real enthusiasts to enjoy the car. Get lost, kid. Nobody wants your spot in line.

Thanks for the thread bumps, spot is now gone.

Congrats. Don't listen to the jealous people badmouthing you. Nothing wrong with asking someone to give you something for your hard work. Seems so many people want everything given to them nowadays. I appreciate it if/when people give me a tip or help me, but I don't expect it and then badmouth them if they don't bow down to me. :tsk:

That is assuming the folks on here didnt work hard for their allocations (I also called 50+ dealers) and I only got a car due to help from another member.

By this adage, we can say dealers should always charge ADM on these cars, due to all the extra hardwork they must do fielding so many calls and emails from the many prospective buyers

I think it depends. If it was $100-200 that's one thing, and probably fair regardless for a bit of time; but something like $1,000 or more is another. Mine as well pay the dealer the ADM at that point as at least it's partially tax deductible, assuming you are taxed on the ADM too raising the overall tax portion.

Why do you have to make that assumption?

What I am reading is that you think as long as you worked hard other people should be obligated to give the results of their work to you for free. I just plain disagree with that. There is no obligation. You do not "deserve" to get a GT350. Nor do I or anyone else.

I also disagree with your comparison on dealers and ADMs. Dealers make money when they sell cars at MSRP, so they get paid for their work. You seem to want a situation more comparable to the dealer selling you the car at their cost because you did some work calling around.

Not even worth debating this with anyone who agrees with this sort of thing. Not something I would ever do or even think of doing.

The "finder's fee" was $2,500, lol. Pure comedy.

I wish I could get paid $50 per 1 minute phone call. Man what hard work!

I would've just offered a dealer $2,500 ADM then. I bet you would find at least 1 willing to take it for a few minutes of your time.
No way, much better to pay this man for his hours and hours of hardwork than let a filthy dealership sell over MSRP

How could I be so be so short-sighted and self-serving to not realize the value of this poor souls tremendous efforts, efforts that he had already willing done to secure a car for his "family member". Unless of course he planned to charge his "family member" for his efforts as well

I'm sure the screen shot of the "willing buyer" was before he divulged just how much his "finders fee" was.

Yeah right, I'm sure you donate all your work time to your employer and don't get paid for it.

Some people might say it's not worth debating...

but then after that they might keep posting their opinions over and over again anyway.
