You are correct, I have a DORA, I also have the itemized order form showing the sales price, TTL, reflecting my deposit, and signed by the dealer rep and myself. I placed the order over the phone with the owner of the dealership directly and talked to him for a bit and got some good warm fuzzy feelings. I won't ever meet him since the car will be shipped, if there would be a sales price hike, it would come from the owner via the final sales contract, but I just didn't get that vibe from these folks. But alas, until the contract is signed, anything could happen

That's a bit different if you have a countersigned piece of paper with the price you paid and deposit deducted. That is way more toward a legal contract than a DORA sheet alone.

I had the same thing with my GT, a countersigned doc showing the price (X plan) taxes, etc and my deposit deducted. It was signed by myself and the dealer manager.

Has anyone actually taken delivery of a GT350 at MSRP yet? I hope nobody shows up at the dealership to pick up a car only to find out the "manager forgot to add the ADM".
A friend of mine had made a verbal (over the phone) deal with a salesman on a Hellcat, drove 2 hours to the dealership and the salesman informed him that the manager said they had to charge an additional 20k. long story short, no Hellcat.
I hope everyone that wants one will get one at a deal they are happy with, whether that be MSRP or something else.
Mike
we are months away yet for any deliveries......Maybe the 15's in august/sept.

I'm pretty sure the insurance doesn't care about ADM but the replacement value of the car. If you total it, say they did it on the lot brand spanking new, they are not going to likely pay your ADM back, but the MSRP value of the car.

And FYI DORAs are not contracts, it is a price quote with order number. They wouldn't likely be enforceable in court. The DORA doesnt say either party has to do anything (not even things so basic as you have to pay for the car as you can walk away after getting a DORA) but is more akin to a price quote which the law says are not contracts. The contract is the long sheet carbon copies you sign when you pick up the car. The dealer orders the and pays for the car from Ford, which you then pay the dealer for. The dealer really owns the car until you sign on pickup and pay the full amount to perform on the contract.

I have no doubt either a good number of people who think/brag about a MSRP order will be without a car if someone walks in within the next few months and is willing to pay more or ADM.
Yes, thank you. I knew all that and that was my point. It's not a done deal until the purchase contract is signed. As I said, I'm sure that some people will get the high hard one from the dealer they think is acting in good faith right now. I'm also sure that some people will have their expectations met by that rare sales person/dealer.

Of course was just agreeing with you. I think it'll be 50/50 depending who walks into that particular dealership before then offering what amount, and what relationship you have with your dealer, as deliveries are still half a year off for the 2016s

I hear ya. The other thing that I think is going on with quite a few of the dealers I'm talking to is this...They're taking names/phone numbers and asking folks what they want as far as options and colors. They're telling folks that they will order per their preferences but my gut is that they're going to order as dealer stock with the options/colors that the majority on their list have asked for and then when the car(s) come in they're going to call up all the folks on the list and have themselves a giddy little fun bidding war of a time. :)

Yeah, I was not going to deal with any dealer of that sort. Mine was a custom order (although will likely be a very popular one, white/bluestripes/track pack/cover), was not going to have it any other way

That's correct. I have a 2015 on order, and the ETA is between August 12 and August 18. The build date is set to commence July 22nd - less than two weeks away! :ford:

That's going to be an interesting conversation to have with your insurance agent. Even for the lucky ones who got a GT350 at MSRP, is the car's value higher than you paid because of all the ADM deals and because you might not be able to replace a totaled one for what you originally paid? At the very least, I will be insuring mine with my regular insurance company as a secondary-use, "pleasure" vehicle with limited annual mileage (under 10,000).

Beyond that, there are other considerations for stated-value insurance. For example, Hagerty only will insure a 1980 or newer vehicle if it's not a daily driver. In fact, you have to prove you own another vehicle that's separately insured for daily use. And if your driving record is bad, forget it.
You are correct - I called Hagerty about my 2015, and they will insure it. The price would go up if we didn't have daily drivers...up significantly. :(

Yes I agree. I ordered my GT350 on Tuesday at 5,000 ADM. I probably will insure it as a collector car through Hagerty as I have a policy with them for my 77 bandit T/A
On another topic that's been on my mind. What are the insurance implications of paying an ADM? For instance, what if someone goes in and pays $10k over MSRP and then promptly (apply your definition of promptly here) totals the car in an accident (God forbid). It seems to me that a conventional insurance company is only going to pay out on the value of the car, which doesn't include the ADM, unless they have gap insurance or a collector car insurance like Hagerty.
When I talked to Hagarty, they were willing to insure for the full amount I will be paying - car, ADM, taxes, etc.. You can get a 0 deductible and full coverage at a good price.

See my comment above. The way I understand it, Hagerty will cover the amount you pay over, given the car is recognized as "collectible" by Hagerty, and they are good with the final "value". But, as mentioned before, you have to have a daily driver as well to get a good break on price.

BTW - I don't work for Hagerty. :D

Hmm, if I may ask what are their rates like for a full year? Might have to look into them as well

So Steve16 and Blk2015GT do you have a GT350 on order for MSRP and are just expressing worry, or don't have one and just raining on the parade? Not sure where all the doubt for those claiming MSRP and the integrity of those dealers is coming from. Would be interesting to run a poll after deliveries start to see what happened although even then people will only believe their own bias.

I have a spot in line, close to the front, for a 2016. I don't have an order in the system or a DORA yet. I think my dealer/salesman is a straight shooter. They know what they're getting number-wise but is telling me that even if they put the order in, it's not an order until the regional Ford rep says "go". I can't follow it all if I'm honest. I'm not trying to rain on anyone's parade but you do see a lot of conflicting information from the various Ford dealers and peeps searching for a car. And there are definitely salesman/dealerships taking the less than honest road early in the process. You can take the posts as you'd like. We'll see how it pans out in the coming months I guess.

Your salesman is correct, I am in the same holding pattern, basically the order is placed and has been confirmed by the regional rep, just waiting for september when the factory will actually formally accept the order and start the process (VIN, build schedule, etc)

As long as the dealership has the allocation, they can still place the order and get a DORA for you (using the old ordering system), it will just be in queue until the regional rep gives the factory the go, which seems to be handled quarter by quarter.

Yeah, I talked to him today and he gave me some good news that they will be ordering soon at which point I will beam myself star-trek-like down to the dealership with colors/options/deposit in hand. :)
