MRT hood strut issues?

This is the kit they are sending me, no holes in the hood need drilled, but you do need to drill a hole in the battery cover.

I installed a set on my 2017 last week and they won’t even think about holding the hood up. There were installed correctly.

The Mustang has one very heavy hood. I installed the Ford Performance struts and haven't had an issue (knock on wood) but unlike others I left the prop rod in place just in case.

I've had the MRTs almost since I bought my car. The first set had no labeling. I had to replace the struts early this year, and they have no problem holding the hood up - I always have it open at shows, sometimes for hours and I often open it when I get home to let the engine cool more quickly so it stands open overnight [it's open right now in fact].

Note that these are 80-pound-capacity supports EACH.
