Thanks to everyone that responded. The alignment issues do concern me since the alignment on my EB is just about as perfect as you can get it. I'll see if any other feedback appears with their experiences.

Thanks again!

Every Mustang I have ever owned requires the 12" to 18" drop to close the hood, all except my '66. The '15 does as well, even with my Redline struts, same as it did with the prop rod. I see no problem with the closure, why does a short drop seem like an issue with you?

Hi Andreas,

Thanks for the reply. I've read that your 2015 Mustang kits require the mount on the passenger side to be mounted to the battery cover after the installer drills a hole through it. Is that correct?

Thanks!

Jim
Hello Jim,
Our system requires a hole to be drilled through the plastic battery cover, however the bracket does not mount to the cover itself. The bracket mounts to the frame and it pokes through the battery cover. There is still access to the battery with our system installed.

Thanks! That helps a lot and the picture is much clearer. One more question. Does the strut have to be removed to get the battery cover off to access the battery?

Thanks again for the very quick follow up!

Since I already had to do this, I can answer: nope, so long as you have the hole drilled a bit over the size of the bracket you can just remove the cover plastic holddowns, then swivel the cover out of the way.

As 2Cool mentioned above, you do not need to remove anything from our system to access the battery, simply swivel the cover out of the way.

My brother!!...A correctly done "hole" in that cheap flimsy cover will look like it always belonged there. Trust me..."no big deal." I've owned way too many cars/truck/suvs....going for my 10th Mustang......very high tech background...tech. school instr, aircraft industry trainer all over the world....consultant to engineers on design of aircraft components...etc, etc....well....being my younger brother...you know these things right? Didn't mean to rattle on here..

But, the point is...NO BIG DEAL....for a better quality mount and strut. If you can't make a little hole...with smoothed edges...that will look factory....then you can't modify anything!! Dad always said you were the one to be the "insurance agent"....or "banker" in the family....and NOT the one to fix anything other than "his tie!" LOL......
Hey Bro! :)

I spent over a decade twisting wrenches professionally so it's not that I don't know how or have the tools. I just prefer to have something that's easily returned to stock if I choose to. Actually pulled the battery cover off today to see what was needed. BTW, the cover retain system sucks. Why would they use such flimsy retainers? Of course I promptly lost part of one which made my face even grumpier.

BTW, it appears that the drilled hole also goes though the metal inner fender. How do you get to the back of it to attach the retainer nut?

My 1st addition is going to be a catch can then I'll look at hood struts.

Thanks for the feedback!

I've installed the Redline struts on my '15 GT. A small hold in the battery box plastic cover was the only drilling needed. No alignment issues. And they seem to release the hood soon enough that it latches closed without a problem. I left the prop rod in place as a backup should the struts get weak.
