Has anyone tried the Boomba "street" mount?
Oh yea.. I forgot Boomba had two versions of their mount. I ordered the street one, but am curious now about others reviews again. For those who had the Boomba mount and provided a review, was it the street or race versions?

Which places sell the UPR mounts?

I want the most street friendly, least NVH ones, sounds like UPR is the best option.

Just need to find a place that can ship cheaply to UK and its great they only take like 30 minutes to install. :D

Not sure about UK, but I ordered mines from Hypermotive on here. He offered the best price for me. I believe there is a group buy with UPR in another thread here, but I think its for the Aussies.

After the UPR street mounts are installed only slightly noticed idle noise for a few weeks, then gradually went away. Even on cold starts in cold weather don't notice them now. As far as the trans insert I've noticed a slight increase in transmission noise, but later that week i changed the trans and diff fluids so it seems no louder then stock, some people cant stand the insert that's why they drill a hole in it to help reduce some nvh. Compared to the Boomba mount which makes you think your car is broken due to the extreme cabin noise but it was a race version. I also have derlin cradle bushing and urethane diff bushings which make the rear hum a little that a whole other story.

Gibbo205 particularly..
I ordered my UPR mounts direct from UPR. Shipping to Australia was cheap when compared to other vendors.
I ordered the street mounts but received the strip ones. A quick email to Steve at UPR, all fixed.
NVH of the strip mounts... plenty. Mostly the V part of that equation.
I can feel the engine through the floor pan and steering wheel. You get used to it quickly but I can see that most people, like me, would start the car for the first time and be all "what the hell is THIS!"
I'll be fitting the street version once they arrive.
I dropped the engine 3/4" and didnt notice the sump touching on anything BUT I will have a shit-hot look in a week or so.
I can't recommend UPR highly enough. Sure, they made a mistake, but damn they fixed it IMMEDIATELY!
Clearance I can't comment on. I'm lowered 35mm all round, the lowest part of my car is now the LT headers and rest of exhaust. I don't see the sump as an issue.

Have you put the street version yet?

Not as yet. Still waiting for them to arrive. Takes about a fortnight or so for stuff to get to Australia typically. They'll be going in as soon as they arrive though and I'll certainly be sharing the info right here.

My new mounts arrived from UPR today.
Very impressed with their professionalism.
I can't give a review of the street vs strip as yet but I will say that the street ones actually have some compliance about them. They're more like a poly bushing where the strip ones are like delrin or something eg no give whatsoever, the nearest thing to bolting your engine directly to the chassis.

Nice! I installed mines last weekend:

Not too bad of an install with all the right extensions and swivel joints. Had to use a heavy duty impact gun too. Haven't gotten the chance to drive it either since the car is still being worked on and its raining for about a week here.

The pictures of the parts by themselves don't do them justice haha. They look puny and weak. Bolted in, they look great.

UPR Street vs Strip - what a HUGE diference!
After about a month of the strip engine mounts, I was almost starting to hate my car. The steering wheel and floorpan were vibrating and it was just horrible. Fine for a race car, no good for a DD.
Got the street mounts in yesterday and I'm in love all over again. An added but totally unexpected bonus is that my exhaust now sounds EVER-so-slightly quieter. I had the mounts done at the same time as the new exhaust so had no idea what it "should" sound like. I suspect that the engines vibrations were somehow hooking into the resonanat frequency of the exhaust system and making it pretty uncomfortable in the cabin.
Do NOT buy the strip mounts unless you like your teeth rattling out.

It's like what happened to me with the Boomba transmission mount.

Any difference in performance from stock?

I had zero lockouts with the strip mounts in place, despite being crazy aggressive on the shifts. I'd actually say that the car had a tendency to get loose a little more easily if anything. Guessing that transferring all the power rather than absorbing some it will make a small difference there?
Can't make too much comment on the street mounts as yet and probably won't be able to rate them compared to stock - it's been too long since I used the OEM mounts now.:headbonk:

Mine will be going in tomorrow. I'll post up initial thoughts. I won't be able to give a good review of shift feel improvement because I'll also be installing an MGW X-spec and BG fluids but I'll give thoughts on NVH. I can't wait!

I just installed the X-Spex two weeks ago and switched my differential fluid to BG last weekend. Next is the tranny fluid to BG once the weather is better. Then I can finally drive it :headbang:
