Anyone running motor mounts on their non-competition car? BMR and Steeda have a solution that have "minimal" vibration and allow for dropping the engine (1/2" for BMR, 3/4" for Steeda).

Dropping the engine seems like it would be problematic for a DD, especially if you have a lowered suspension. Ever other car I have seen poly motor mounts on vibrates somewhat harsh (worse if you have a cam).

Reason I ask is my headers are in and I'm wondering if this is something worth investing in or not while they are installing the headers.

If you are concerned about NVH, just skip them. As much as I would love to see you spend your hard earned money on BMR parts, I think that is NVH is something you are concerned about pre installation, that you may not be happy with them. (anyone's)

FWIW, the 1/2" drop rate for ours is just from removing the two top billet inserts. You can actually drop the engine 1/4"...or up to almost 2"

Thanks for the honesty Kelly. I never dropped an engine in a street car before. Was curious if it caused any issues.

NVH is a concern, especially since I'm considering going to a stiffer suspension. Adding that with engine vibration may make for a really lousy car to drive on the road. Hard to say for sure as it is a personal thing. I know people who would say the base GT suspension is too stiff.

I am pleasantly surprised to read something like this. While you are a businessman, you are one of those special people who is a person first. You could just easily said " Oh don't worry about NVH, it's very minimal, and engine mounts are a great upgrade". But you are honest. Most people try to sell products without thinking of the customer.

I installed them on my car since I had the engine mounts out anyways while installing long tube headers. Mine are set to 1/2" drop and I really don't notice any extra NVH from them. The headers may mask the noise though.
In full disclosure though I bought a Mustang and I truly enjoy the extra gear whine that I hear after installing the full BMR bushing package on the rear diff and cradle.
