You have to drive them. The main difference will be the sound. The EB has the sound symposer that doesn't sound natural, but it's kind of cool. You have to decide if you like it or not.
By the way, the sound symposer doesn't interfere with amplifing your system, does it? When I put an amp on the high level signal from the head unit, I dont don't want to amp the sound symposer.

...I gotta ask honestly did you ever drive the new Ecoboost? And if you did , did you ignore the sales guy and really get on it and get into the Boost?? I had to ask because your description of the power band of the two is totally the opposite of what i experienced.. I felt the v6 was a high reeving engine and i did not feel any torque until around 5k... when you say you feel the v6's torque right off idle it has me scratching my head..
http://www.mustang6g.com//www.pinterest.com/pin/create/extension/

I drove most of the set ups, except Icouldn't find a V6. The thing about the V6 is that it needs the axle ratio, I think. THat should wake it up big time because it's gong from a 3.15 to a 3.55.

To the OP.. YOU really have to go out and test all these options on the Mustang yourself and make your own determination.. Listening to my opinion about the EcoBoost and the V6 guy's about there 3.7 is only gooing to make your head spin.. ... There all Mustangs and there all awsome!
I drove a lot of them. I really enjoyed the eB w/PP, both stick and auto. I haven't found a V6 either way.

First off: as mentioned several times on this thread, the 2015 3.7 makes a lot more low end torque than the 2011 - 2014. I agree with you that the previous gen didn't have a whole lot until after 4000 RPM. That difference makes the 2015 3.7 feel just as strong if not stronger than the EB from 800 to 2500 RPM (what I mean by off idle), and only a little bit lacking thereafter.

...
See above.

You'll have to be careful as the mic for it is in the back. I think I read of a few who had sound symposer issues after putting in an amp/sub.

Glad you liked the EB PP! As long as you get what you want no one loses. I agree it's a great car and I am still to this day only like 51/49 or 52/48 V6 over the EB PP. It just didn't seem like you had driven the configurations you were considering so we were all encouraging you to do so.

Both engines are good but budget wise they are very different. I'm choosing the V6 for affordability (mostly) as in I can run cheaper gas and get all the benefits of the engine (HP and Torque). I'll also get fuel economy similar to the Eco while saving money on gas so it's a win/win economically. I'm not concerned about modifying and in spite of all the Internet/Magazine love the EB gets there are and will be plenty of parts available to make more HP out of the V6. The main difference to me is the SOUND. The EB just doesn't sound right to me, it's not bad it's just not "right". Since its a totally subjective thing I'm not saying it shouldn't be in a Mustang or anything, but the V6 sounds closest to the V8. Has a throaty note from idle to open throttle. If they would only have put some premium features on the V6 - but that may not be Fords plan. I know I'll love my V6 and be extremely happy as I upgrade on my own and as money is available. Drive both, and get what you feel is best for you and your needs- it's still a Mustang!
+1

It just does not sound "right" to me. It's hard to explain but, to me, the sound that the ecoboost makes does not fit the body style of the car. It would be a perfectly good sound on a Focus or a Fiesta but the long, wide and low stance that the Mustang has calls for a throathier, meaty sound IMO.

In regards to low end power I don't think it's just the axle ratio. Plenty of people, even a few youtube car reviewers, have driven both the '14 and '15 V6 and remarked on the big low end improvement. I need to drive a '14 myself, but honestly in my '15 I get pushed into the seat low in the power band.

I thought the sound symposer was pretty neat, actually. I just didn't like the sound from the outside. The stock exhaust sound imo is dreadful but I'm sure aftermarket will or has already fixed that.

I just came back from Buss Ford. One of my favorite salesman let me drive the eB premium manual w/o PP.

It certainly is a beautiful car. I cannot say that I was overwhelmed by the power. I tend to spin 'em up pretty good. I got to the end of the power band I thought rather soon and I thought it came on a little late. The one I had driven before had the PP and felt a little quicker at the time. Should I be think'n' 2012 GT?

This one was Race Red, so that's not the fastest color.

If you ever need a great Ford dealer in Northern Illinois, Buss Ford.

Did you put it in sport mode? Helped a lot when I drove EB's. How many miles on it?

50 miles. No, I completely forgot to play with the modes. It might have been in snow mode for all I know.

Order the V6, drive it, don't look back.
