There is an app, for the NYT that you can read on your iphone, that summarizes news item. Two days ago there was an item stating the Camaro was the top selling "muscle car". I have not found that stated in the regular online NYT. I had to explain to my wife that the report was worse than inaccurate

Every thing that I've read shows the Camaro as being a better seller than the Mustang. Who cares really? With the new Camaro announcement, lots of wannabe's will be buying the cheap 4 cylinder I'm sure, helping them keep the sales title.

Present means today. The new generation Mustang came out last Sept and correct me if I'm wrong but has been outselling the Camaro, and by a lot, every month since. Therefore the Mustang is the best selling muscle car. It knocked out the champ last Sept.

It really depends on what the article was referencing time period wise.

As to Jimmy's statement - 2010 - present means all cars sold in that time period. Just because mustang has been outselling camaro for the last 7 or so months does not mean it has the higher total number from 2010 to present.

I don't know what the numbers actually are, I'm just saying.

Why don't we just say from 1964 to present? I mean the camaro gets special privileges because it was absent? I mean there was a market ruled by the mustang because it was the only one. 8 years later they have another option, of course the sales are higher. Now the mustang has knocked the camaro off the pedestal, the challenger is gaining ground, and the new camaro is coming later this year. The pony car wars begin! And we are the winners!

Yup. Here are the numbers from the sales thread since the new Camaro was introduced. From April 2009 thru April 2015.
