More comfortable ride option?

I have a strange question, opposite of what most people ask for:

Where I live, the roads are about equal to the condition of the roads in Bagdhad circa 2003. After throwing on my summer tires, the ride on my car is just too rough to enjoy some days. Is there an aftermarket option for a more comfortable ride? I'll sacrifice handling and what not.

It's a daily driver with stock suspension.

Seeing as how your on the stock non-PP suspension, nothing will be softer than that (besides air like previously mentioned but those are $3,000+ setups)

My guess is your summer tires have a stiffer and/or smaller sidewall which may be causing this (over your presumably winter tires). Only option there would be to get better summer tires with more sidewall.

Have you checked the pressure of the new tires after installing?

Smaller diameter, lighter wheels. Tires with more sidewall that make up the height difference.

Conti tires tend to have softer sidewalls - worth a try.

What you need is more suspension TRAVEL with soft springs. Hard to add that.

When you say rough, what do you mean exactly? Is it the initial impact, or the response thereafter? If the former, there's not much you can do besides getting a more forgiving tire or taller sidewall. The springs are already pretty soft. Do check the pressures as well.

If it's the lack of body control from bumps, a slightly better damper on stock springs could be a good choice. Something like the Steeda Fixed shocks and struts or Koni Orange/STR.T. I know from my perspective my car rides overall better than it did stock (non-PP base), despite being significantly firmer. This is because every bump is quick up-down and done. No bounce, no feeling of it being jittery or tossed around. If I had similar to stock spring rates, I'm confident it would be a better riding car in all aspects.

I know the sidewall is playing a big role, and it'll be different the next go around. I can deal with it most days, the other passenger who rides in it...not so much.

Was just curious of the options.

Steeda Comfort Suspension package is what you are looking for. It has progressive springs which help will cruising down the road and improves handling. I just had Steeda install the package while on vacation. After they were installed, driving down I-75 and the Florida Turnpike, I noticed the ride was smoother when going over bumps and rumble strips in the road. You still felt them, just not as sharp as before (IOW it does not turn into a land yacht type ride) . On a couple exits, I powered through the turns and found when pushing the car, it was more planted and stable.

I want to try out how it handles a little bit more before I give a full review. The ride when cruising down the road though has been tested. I drove from Valdosta to Orlando and Orlando to North of Atlanta. It lowered my Mustang about an inch. I plan to put it through the car wash after work and post some pictures tonight.

I wouldn't waste my time or money. A stock GT non-PP is about as soft as you'll get. Crappy roads are not comfortable to drive on in the majority of vehicles. The only exception would be something like my '98 Buick Park Ave that had Dyna Ride-air shocks. It rode like a pillow over anything.

This is why I asked if it was the initial impact or the response after the bump that made it feel rough. The solution to each of those are very different things.

I'd say the initial impact, it's not bouncy or anything.
